Are People Poor Because They're Lazy? Almost Half Of White Christians In America Seems To Think So.
Good Saturday morning everyone, no real surprises here. Some white evangelical Christians in the US can't stand the poor. They blame them not for their own poverty and all the general ills of society. They choose to ignore the words of Jesus himself--"whatsoever you do for the least of my brothers, that you do unto me."
Jesus would be ashamed at the so called Christians in the USA today. Jesus preached we should help the poor, the sick, the criminals and those different than us. Today Christians have no compassion to help others. They look down on the poor and look down on minorities. The Christians in the USA support greedy, corrupt businessmen who never have enough material wealth.
Jesus may have lived as a poor man and consistently been on the side of those with little material wealth, but a poll shows almost half of the Christians in the United States believe people who live in poverty do so because they’re lazy.
Indeed, Christians, particularly white evangelicals, are much more likely than non-Christians to associate a lack of wealth with a lack of effort, according to a poll from The Washington Post and the Kaiser Family Foundation published Thursday. The survey, conducted between April 13 and May 1 with a sampling error of plus or minus 4 percentage points, indicated that 46 percent of Christians believed that a lack of effort is generally to blame for a person’s poverty, compared with 29 percent of non-Christians.
