Prophet Brian Carn, Dr. Earl Carter, Bishop Ronzel Pretlow, Response To Apostle Matthew Stevenson's Commentary!

Reader good Thursday morning to everyone I'm praying everyone reading this post have a wonderful day, in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I guess R. Kelly and Apostle Matthew Stevenson is the Facebook topic for the last couple of days because it's all up and down my timeline.

All I'm gonna say is that after watching all the different broadcasts and attacks against Apostle Matthew Stevenson the church needs to get it together. Everyone interprets the Scriptures differently, every pastors is not for everybody.  In my opinion, the rebuttal last night by Prophet Carn, the yelling and name calling by Dr. Earl Carter and the personal attacks on the man and his ministry by Bishop Ronzel Pretlow was not necessary. I'm at lost with this whole Apostle Matthew Stevenson situation.
The religious folk had reported Apostle Matthew Stevenson video so many times that Facebook took the video down.

  1. Nothing like a bunch of false prophets turning on each other.

"These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever. or when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage" II Peter 2:17-19

O the web these false prophets weave.

Be not deceived. These folks are not a part of the BODY. "The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:"

  4. Ann it's sad because our youth are looking at this and deciding not to bother with worship and fellowship. This is a private issue and if either side felt someone was indirectly addressing them it should not be on social media. Also, if your name isn't called then don't assume or take up the cause. I have issue with parts of what both of them said and I'm disappointed.

  5. Folks are big mad because Dr.Matthew Stevenson made the rejected feel empowered! And that goes against EVERY legalistic demon we been taught! (and tried to oppresses with)

It's like the slaves learning how to read!!

Oh no! We can't let them do that! And we can't let those "that don't (look) like holiness" feel called!

...Feel validated, feel like they have worth and anointing...

LASTLY (before I close and take my bed again...)

    Philippians 1:15-18

15 It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. 16 The latter do so out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. 17 The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains. 18 But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice.

    -Be blessed
-Keep the Gospel/LOSE the made up rules
    -Stay saved
    -Stay IN THE BOOK
-Don't let liberty cause you to be big mad.
    -Slaves can read now!
    -Go in peace!✌

  6. For the record I don't think any MAN should be wearing skinny jeans. I don't think any black man should dye his hair blond. I don't think any pastor should be going by all these illegitimate titles, including Dr. especially if they haven't EARNED a bachelors and masters first from REAL universities. I don't think any pastor should flaunt their tattoos. I also think it's completely unnecessary for any pastor male or female to go out of their way to try to look "sexy" especially while doing ministry.
So these are just a few reasons why I would NEVER be a fan of his ministry.
With that being said from what I have heard, he seems to be preaching the truth and I haven't heard him say anything that sounds false. Not saying that he hasn't before, but I don't follow his ministry. However everytime I see a clip or hear him, he's preaching the truth and comes from the Bible, so I have no problem with that.
I'm not going to bash him because I don't agree with how he appears to conduct himself.

  7. Dr. Stephenson is a part of a generation of pastors who are "out of the box." In reading the post, has anyone ever approached Stephenson about their issues with his image? While flaunting your muscular appearance or tattoos is never appropriate, name-calling and vitriol is not appropriate either. Not everyone has the same flow as Stephenson, Carn, or Pretlow. I do not include Dr. Carter because his vlogs are knee-jerk reactions to issues and are very inflammatory in nature. Dr. Stephenson speaks truth and and I enjoy his commentary on the role of pastors, but being edgy could backfire on him. I do not go to church to critique the appearance of my pastor, instead, I go to get strengthened in my faith and learn His word. Like COGIC Brother, I will draw the line at skinny jeans, but whether or not he dyes his hair is between him and God. I will reserve judgement because his ministry is bearing fruit.
With all that I have said, I have major issue with ministers putting the title of "Dr." behind their names without matriculating in a real university with real assignments. The path to a Ph.D is an arduous one at best and people feel they earned that credential. Stephenson (as well as Earl Carter) should come clean about where they received their credentials.
Having said all of this, Stephenson is a cutting-edge pastor and these gentlemen mentioned in the post have a problem with that.

  8. As I posted my first comment, another thing came to mind in reading yesterday's and today's post. Some time back, Bishop Rudolph McKissick, Jr. had a moment of self-disclosure with the youth of his church. Look it up on YouTube, if you have a chance. He showed his tattoos and told about his past in an effort to reach the young people where they were. This was a service during the whole Trayvon Martin situation. Dr. Stephenson could have had the tattoos before he got into ministry. We all should be careful how we deal with people who have pasts because their experiences do qualify them for ministry.

    1. Thanks Johnny for your input. I really don't think it's just the tattoos that these preachers have a problem with Dr. Stevenson. Its petty what they are doing and the enemy is gaining territory in the body of Christ while these preachers are being petty and taking pot shots. I do follow Dr. Stevenson and his wife, they are great teachers.

  13. "And the truth shall set you free".

This self acclaimed apostle used Matthew 11 to justify his "practices" (tattoos, hair, tight clothes, etc). Any student of the Bible, knows the four Gospels were written to highlight the life of JESUS.

This JOKER proves his BIBLICAL illiteracy when justifying his worldly ways. For those to agree with this dude, YOU CARE NOTHING about the Scriptures. For Steverson to entitle his message "What did you come to see?" and conclude to judge folks in the CHURCH as HYPOCRITES, may his very own WORDS JUDGE HIM 100 fold.

In Matthew 11, John the Baptist sent two of his disciples to ask the LORD "Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?". The LORD responded to tell John's disciples " Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see: The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them."

They were to testify to JOHN, the miracles they witnessed and the words they heard THE MESSIAH spoke!

And as they departed JESUS said to them JOHN was NOT A reed shaken with the wind, NOR a man clothed in soft raiment. The LORD not ONLY spoke about HIS CLOTHING, He said about JOHN, He was not a "reed blown by the wind". John was not a person easily swayed by public opinion. Nor did he wear soft," even effeminate clothes, unlike those of the king wore. Jesus made it CLEAR to them "I say unto you, and more than a prophet.Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist."

For this JOKER to say "In Jesus' mind, they shouldn't have expected to see anything" is an OUGHTRIGHT LIE! And to ad lib in his pride to appear to be ultra spiritual saying "They were to hear a thing, call a thing, whatever their judgment about his attire" is plain ole GUILE and DECEIT. Despite his empty-headed conclusion, John's appearance WAS NOT SECONDARY. His character (not a reed) and his appearance (camel hair /leather girdle) spoke a LOT about John, FORERUNNER for a KING of KINGS, whose shoe laces he was unworthy to loose.

How senseless this DUFUS twists the WORD of GOD, to REBUKE those who are against tattoos (despite what Leviticus 19:28 says "Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I [am] the LORD."), and skinny jeans, dreads and worldliness. UNREAL!

And that's not all his sly antics. He skips around playing double-dutch to say about John, folks called John a devil, using this ploy to say the judgments passed against himself need not be taken seriously. Yet the WRITER of the GOSPEL did a simple comparison to say

    About JOHN -

"For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil."
    About CHRIST

"The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children."

Unlike what this male version of Juanita Bynum would have YOU believe, there is no correlation with FOLKS calling HIM out, with those in that DAY calling John the Baptist the DEVIL.

The Jews rejected John and charged him with demon possession. They rejected JESUS and ended up KILLING HIM. For this NUT, and many here saying "Steverson was biblical", ALL I can say is HE and YOU ARE IN REALLY REALLY BAD shape, and I REALLY REALLY doubt you all REALLY REALLY know the LORD.

In spite of John's doubts, Jesus supported and affirmed His forerunner to his disciples and his critics.

    1. Anonymous,

      Thank you!!!

I didn't listen to Stevenson's sermon. The imagery that was posted on the blog entry was enough to put me off. It was clear it was all about Stevenson, his hairstyle, his tattoos, his physique, his outfits, etc. This was NEVER about Christ Jesus!

John the Baptist said of Jesus, "He must increase, but I must decrease." (John 3:30)

Paul declared, "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me." (Galatians 2:20).

All Stevenson has done is to be desirous of vain glory and thus the strife (Galatians 5:26).

Believers should read the WORD of God in it's entirety and KNOW that God himself sent his own son, with no form or majesty that we should esteem him (Isaiah 53:2). Who then is Stevenson, but mere mortal man?

"For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come." (1 Timothy 4:8)

    2. Shepherd... You are so on point.

All you need is a name, title and a story, and you can pretty much discern the LEGION of demons from miles away.

This idiot used Scriptures to prove what folks said against himself to be true. He did exactly what's done in gay theology and "atheist" theology to conclude if you are against tattos, you shouldn't eat pork. CAN you believe this MORON, calling himself an apostle raising his ugly unbiblical head this way?!

God initiated the dietary laws to teach Israel HIS Holiness, and to remind them they should be clean and separated from the evil nations surrounding them. Not so much the pig is UNCLEAN, because every thing he made was GOOD. It's plainly stated in Acts " But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, thatcall not thou common. This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven."

I didn't listen to all of THE GARBAGE of Stevenson speech. The first part of his mesage where prefaced Matthew 11 was way over board, his LIES to JUSTIFY himself, manipulating others to trust HIS false teaching.

He's sad. The folks being duped is Worse!

    3. Amen to Anonymous who examined Stevenson's "exegesis"/commentary of the scriptures he used to support his opinion. Also for pointing out Leviticus 19:28 which if one is convicted by the Holy Spirit, ENDS discussion or practice of tattoos. Thank you also for pointing out Stevenson's "slickness" (that often leads down the slippery slope) in maneuvering around the scriptures to ultimately "justify" his appearance. Examination and study eliminates being duped.

    4. YOU are welcome ANONYMOUS exegesis...

YOU hit the nail right on the head, the SLIPPERY slope as it got worse and worse as he spoke.

Many of these IGNORANT false teachers quote NO BIBLE at all, I guess to be relevant so no once can have a source to check their lies. Many uses little Bible, and it's easy to spot their lies, if you just read the passages they quote FOR YOUSELF to allow the HOLY SPIRIT to reveal to you the REAL meaning of Scriptures in CONTEXT. It's really not that hard. But these lazy bums would rather rely on deceitful men and women to spoon feed them tainted meat cooked to a flavor that satisfy their taste, while they sit back with filled bellies, not even noticing the effects of the CANCER inside. Listen to them HERE!

  14. Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is In the world is the lust of the flesh. the lust of the eyes and the pride of life, It is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passes away with the lusts thereof: but he that does the will of God abide the for ever. 1 John 2:15-17

Ye adulterers and adulteresses, don't you know that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. James 4:4

Somebody pinch me, but I have to say I agree with Brian Carn. I also agreed with most of what JB said a few weeks ago about church women and their attire. What both Carn and Bynum are saying is that the church has gone too far. I agree! The church imiitates practically every fad and style that the world comes out with. There is a difference between clean and unclean, holy and unholy.

Social media, t.v. programs, movies and artists have influenced the church to the point that the church is copying the world. Looks like it's not a two-way street because I don't see the world trying to imitate the church. As soon as the world changes--there go some church goers changing too. Everybody wants to look cool, hip, on fleek or whatever the current terminology is. Standards of appropriateness are in place throughout society: at our jobs, restaurants, the golf course, the White House. I believe God still has standards that speak to how we as believers attire and conduct ourselves.

Where does the church stop with this imitating the world? What fad or trend will be off limits? Will the brethren be wearing the man dresses and skirts? We aren't in Scotland! Lord, help us. Amen.

We CAN still look good without doing everything the world is doing.

    1. Nope. You don't need to be pinched. You need to be hit with a hammer if you agree wit Brian Carn. Every scripture Carn used was out of context. Ain't no if you have an aught against a brother, go to HIM alone, the take another, then him before the church. But rather if a brother trespass against you, forgive him, seven times seventy.

You can NEVER conclude any thing righteous coming out of a fight between false prophets. If you know the BIBLE, you'll be rest assured their use of Scriptures will be twisted for their prideful and ungodly gain.

    1. Justsayin,

Both chapters point to the fact that those who choose certain food and those who abstain from the food yet believe in Christ should not judge the other. They have nothing to do with Paul talking about people's appearance or apparel.

The Stevenson situation is all about him and what he does with his hair, outfits, physique, etc.

Stevenson does nothing to let us know if he is a man who has purposed to live according to the precepts of Christ. All he has done is to show his vanity. He knows folk talk about him and he is justifying his ways while falsely using scripture as back up. The I in Stevenson's sermon outweighs Christ. Yet ALL of scripture testifies of Jesus (John 5:39-47) and NOT Stevenson or any other self proclaimed false prophets.

      Delete
    2. Yes both passages deal with dietary matters, but both contain information about judging and not doing things to cause weak believers to stumble. Paul went as far as to say he would stop eating meat if it caused a believer to stumble.

All things are lawful, but not all thing are expedient. All things are pure unless used improperly.

I was attempting to point out the PRINCIPLES that are apparent in these scriptures which I believe apply in this situation.

Not doing whatever we want for because of how it impacts, influences others.
