Why Isn’t The Media Pointing Out That the San Bernardino Shooter Was An Outspoken Christian?

Reader, my prayer go out to all families involved. A young child and a teacher lost their lives in a horrific murder-suicide at a San Bernardino elementary school Monday.

And some on social are wanting to know why the media double standard.  Why isn't the media mentioning and pointing out that the suspected shooter was identified as a pastor who frequently talked about God on Facebook?
Is there a double standard? Do yall think Christians get a pass when they commit awful crimes like this whereas a Muslim or Atheist would not?

  1. This is really shocking ! That said, the double standard in media reporting in the West is plain to see. This incident is not classified as a terrorist act for the simple fact that the perpetrator is a Christian.

  3. I just read a news article on this terrible tragedy that states this shooter was a Christian and a pastor. Maybe some news outlets are not reporting this information, or are still gathering the details, I'm not sure. And this is not considered a terrorist act because that's not what it is, it has nothing to do with him being a Christian. It is a very sad story that has caused much pain to many families, the school, and people in the community, but it's so much more complicated because he was a pastor. I don't find that the Christian community, as a whole, is given any special priveleges by the media in reporting the news, but maybe I just don't see it.

  4. I'm of a totally different angle. I'm sick and tired and black on black murder. Murder is awful no matter what, but among the black community from ATL to Chicago, it's ridiculous. Yes, this man being a pastor blows my mind, but we're absolutely losing it and we're in the last days. https://blackamericaweb.com/2015/08/13/houston-judge-not-told-6-kids-killed-in-shooting-faced-danger/

Also, smh... Dude, used an AK-47. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/crime/florida-woman-8-year-old-son-fatally-shot-boyfriend-article-1.3017748

And I must add, BLACK LIVES MATTER AIN'T SAID A WORD!!

  5. So true Timezone. REALLY...a Christian/Pastor?? I don't care if he was a So-called Apostle.. Prophet.. Evangelist..OR even the Pope...PEOPLE ARE DEAD because of a psycotic event and you're coming up with this nonsense as if it makes a difference that he was a Christian. Even if he was a Christian/Pastor/husband that doesn't change a thing. The DEVIL is destroying people's lives and the church gets in a "tangent" about somebody being black, a Christian, or whatever...IT DOESN'T MATTER TO THE DEVIL!! The church is soooo IGNORANT! If it we're possible...I know God would be shaking HIS HEAD!

  6. I wonder did she check out his background before "I do" she fell for his "act" of being a Christian. Church is full of pretenders and broken sick people.

You just don't know who a person is. So sad. It's safer to stay alone.

HE WASN'T A CHRISTIAN.HE HAD A FORM OF GODLINESS BUT DENING THE POWER.HE WAS MENTALLY ONSTABLE.HE WAS A COWARD HE TOOK A PRECIOUS CHILD'S LIFE AND A WOMAN'S LIFE.HE SHOULD HAVE JUST KILLED HIMSELF. EVERYONE THAT CALLS THEMSELVES A PREACHER ISN'T A PREACHER. SOME ARE CALLED SOME ARE CHOSEN SOME CALLED THEMSELVES. BLACK ON BLACK CRIME IS JUST DISCUSTING. IT IS DESTROYING THE AFRICAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY NOT THE WHITE FOLKS. WE ARE DESTROYING OURSELVES WITH HATRED,CRIMES,BIGOTRY, GENOCIDE AGAINST EACH OTHER. IT MUST STOP.SO WHERE ARE THE PROTESTERS AT ??? BLACK LIVES MATTERS, AL SHARPTON, JAMAL H.BRYANT AND THE REST. DON'T BE SILENT NOW. SPARE NOT SPEAK UP AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, MURDER,SUCIDES,RAPE AND TORTURE. IS THAT ASKING TO MUCH FROM ALL THESE SO CALLED MEN AND WOMEN OF GOD.WHO DON'T WANT TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THESE THINGS ARE HAPPENING IN THE AFRICAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY AND THE CHURCH. I PRAY THAT THE MEDIA DOES GO ALL OUT ON THIS STORY AR LEAST ANDERSON COOPER OF CNN WILL KEEP IT HONEST. MENTAL HEALTH IS A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE THAT NEEDS ADDRESSING IN THE AFRICAN AMERICAN CHURCH. 11. Based on some of the comments the author of this article has made the point. The fact that nobody is bringing his faith into question as a reason behind the shootings is exactly the kind of prejudice they are taking about. Had he been Muslim it would have been all about him being Muslim and headlines would read "terror attack"....regardless if he acted in the name of religion or not. And the fact that his faith was not brought into question as a motivation for his attack is a privilege muslims don't get in the US. Obviously muslims that commit acts of violence are the same level of crazy as this guy. And any Muslim would condemn terror attacks regardless of who perpetuated them. So why is Islam always the reasoning behind violence but not Christianity? When history has proved to us how violent Christianity has been towards other groups. It's an absolute double standard.
