More Americans Say That You Can Be Good Without God?

Reader for the first time, a majority of Americans — 56 percent — say it is possible to be a good person without a religious belief. So says new Pew Research Center data drawn from two polls conducted among about 5,000 American adults in June and July. “God is not a prerequisite for good values and morality,” Greg Smith, Pew’s associate director of research, said in a post about the findings. ” … [T]he public’s increased rejection of the idea that belief in God is necessary for morality is due, in large part, to the spike in the share of Americans who are religious ‘nones.

U.S. Churches Are Now Costing Taxpayers $71 billion A Year

Reader, many Americans believe religious organizations require these heavy tax breaks for use in their charitable works. However, researchers at Secular Humanism report that many popular churches are in fact using far less of their funds compared to non-profits.

A 2015 report from the Secular Policy Institute shows tax-exempt churches cost US taxpayers $71 billion every year.

  1. Miss Ann,

This is not shocking. The bishops and pastors who run these churches reflect this so clearly through the houses, private jets, fancy cars, fine clothing, luxurious travel opportunities, etc that they and their family members possess.

    1. I wonder how many poor and needy does his church feed. Many of the members are poor and needy. Probably hoping some of his anointing falls on them.

  2. This doesn't surprise me.

There are just businesses PRETENDING TO BE CHURCHES.

I seriously doubt that your average mega church even gives the 10% they demand members to pay as tithes.

If your pastor or owns a jet, Bentley, multiple homes and travels the world on "MISSION TRIPS" 😉,
BUT DOESN'T HAVE A FULL TIME JOB OUTSIDE OF CHURCH, IT'S A BUSINESS that does "SOME" charity work on the side.

  3. The time has come to stop protecting the church cons known as pastors and preachers. The have got to stop ripping us all off, under the false pretense of christianity. It's a racket, and their scam is coming to an end!

  4. This organization should look at all non profits until then I don't want to hear complaints about churches
