Happy Good Friday, Another Chance To Get It Right By Dr. Alyn Waller!

Reader, today we celebrate Good Friday. This is the day when we as believers journey with Jesus to the cross to remember his powerful sacrifice on Calvary. Winning forgiveness for our sins wasn't easy. It was a horrific, violent, and painful struggle. Through Jesus' death, we bear witness to the horrors of what happens when people fail to see the God that lives within an individual.

But Good Friday is not a hopeless day. Because on Good Friday we also hear the final teachings of Jesus, affectionately known as the Seven Last Words. These words offer us hope in the midst of our agony Today's sermon examines one of those powerful phrases uttered by Jesus, "Father, forgive them for they no not what they do." This word reminds us that we serve a God who is generous with His grace. Even when we disappoint and disobey God still forgives us. It is the power of God's forgiveness that allows us to keep moving forward. No matter how depressing our world may be we can hold our head up because we know that God's grace allows us to press on. This Good Friday rejoice in the simple fact that you've been given another chance to get it right.
