Alfred Street Baptist Church Pastor Uses The Bible And Beyoncé To Reach Across Generations Lines!!
Reader, here we go, it's Easter Sunday, the day we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ from the grave. As a Christian, one who believes in the bodily resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, it's interesting to watch how our culture continues to reinterpret this holy day.
One church in particular that will not be preaching the Resurrection story this coming Easter Sunday morning, is Alfred Street Baptist Church. As Holy Week nears an end, many are looking forward to the holiest day on the Christian calendar: Easter Sunday.
More than 70 percent of Americans identify as Christian but less than a third practice regularly. James Brown reports from Alfred Street Baptist Church in Virginia, where its pastor and members are defying the odds.
As followers of Jesus Christ, it is of absolute importance that we not allow the meaning of this day to in any way be diminished by the world around us. To the contrary, this holiday, like Christmas, presents us with the unique opportunity to discuss the reason behind the season. Easter is about the resurrection of Jesus from the dead.
