  1. What on earth? Ok, I'm 44 and I'm not saying I can't learn anything from some one that's 19 yrs old, but when it comes to that Word it's just me I guess.. I'm sorry. There has got some be some seasoned veteranship if you will, test and trials, challenges, that the man behind the pulpit has to go thru. With age, comes much seasoned wisdom. I'm just saying. Well, when you got Jamal Bryant teamed up in the mix, ain't too much wisdom going forth from what I see. And Kasim Reed, I've got my opinions of what could be improved in this town. Best thing to happen so far has been the ATL Falcons, lol...

  2. Somebody please explain to me, what is empowerment?

This term is thrown around a lot in Christian circles. I know this term is used in many workplaces as well.

But the Church? Empowerment? What is it? Is it taken from the scripture that says "ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost has come upon you"? Will message at these type conferences highlight this verse in particular? How will an individual attending know that he/she has been empowered? Is it something we can measure? Is it something we can note some immediate difference or change?

At least in the workplace of my employment, they used the word in terms of making people more knowledgeable to do the job via training and practice. But what about the church? Are people bring trained, and if so, to do what? Or is this another money changer in the temple scam to draw people in a way through false expectation with a play on a big Biblical word "power"?

Can anybody who have attended thess such conferences, please share some light of your experiences. All this sounds too subtle to me.

    1. Get Outta Here!!!

Mr. Sawyer has been trained to make paper ($$$) by any means necessary. Empowerment is one of those enticing words that Paul the apostle warned the Colossians about. "And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words." (Colossians 2:4).

      Definition of Empowerment:

      1. authority or power given to someone to do something: "individuals are given empowerment to create their own dwellings"

      2. the process of becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one's life and claiming one's rights: "political steps for the empowerment of women", "a foundation to promote economic empowerment for poor communities"

The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall NOT want...

    2. You hit the nail on the head, the verse yuu referenced (enticing words). Such wicked tactic these kinds will use. Just a little Bible reading... a simple verse...can prompt great discernment...

You continue to be a breath of fresh air. I compliment your diplomacy. I on the other hand get a little steamy at times.

      God bless and
