Chance The Rapper Wins "Best New Artist" At The Grammy's And Claims The Victory In The Name Of JESUS!

Reader today many "gospel" rappers don't want to say Jesus on a record so they can appeal to the mainstream crowd. Artist like Lecrae constantly stress their not a gospel rapper. Now there is Chance the Rapper that talks about Jesus every other song and his personal struggles.

Sunday night Chance the Rapper, Kirk Franklin, Francis and the Lights, Tamela Mann, and a full gospel choir wowed the audience at the Grammys with a soulful performance of “How Great Is Our God.” Not only did their performance leave people talking, Chance walked away with three awards, including Best Rap Performance for “No Problem,” Best New Artist and Best Rap Album. Chance, with the help of some friends, performed a mashup of songs from his album Coloring Book, including “How Great” and “Blessings.”

After a beautiful a capella opening of lines from the hymn “How Great Is Our God,” the audience heard “God is better than the world’s best thing,” and then Chance launched into his poetic rap about faith and the good news of Jesus. Next, Kirk Franklin jumped on the stage and the song is brought home by a full gospel choir. The performance was truly Grammy-worthy.

  1. "Chance launched into his poetic rap about faith and the good news of Jesus. Next, Kirk Franklin jumped on the stage and the song is brought home..."

Stop right there. Kirk Franklin Finished the song? Any true witness that Chance put out, was RUINED when Kirk mixed his profane with the holy.

  2. Miss Ann,

The accolades the world gives one who claims to be a Christian DO NOT translate into "well done good and faithful servant, come into your rest" (Matthew 25:21-23).

It is amazing how people can be so carried away and forget that Jesus said, if we keep his commandments, it is a testament to the fact that we love him (John 14:15). It has nothing to do with "ooohs", "aaahs", and name dropping. We are warned against taking the name of our God in vain (Exodus 20:7).

The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall NOT want...

  3. Chance's music is mumbled garbage. Look up on Google, he got recognized for most cursing in songs 2014. Most popular video features 2 Chainz. Christian really??
Don't get fooled people, this is what they want to dupe you into thinking a real Christian is. If he announces his "retirement" from secular rap and shows some fruit in his walk.. THEN maybe take a look.
The devil quotes scripture, does that mean we're supposed to believe he's saved?

    1. Amen Anonymous...

Anytime these artists make it to the SPOTLIGHT, you know Satan's behind them. The black and white (choir robes) suggest a mixture of good and evil, Luciferian symbology, hidden in plain sight. We have allowed music to bamboozle us as so called Christians, because we reject the Scriptures "speaking among yourselves with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and praising the Lord in your hearts, (Ephesians 5:19) AND "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord." (Col. 3:16).

This thing will continue to snowball and be unfiltered because so many artists serve in their very own flesh, and intentionally turn their backs on God's words. I'm gathering most of these folks involved in the "gospel music" industry are no better than the reprobates Paul talks about in Romans ("Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity.")

And like you said her Anonymous, this (if you would call it music) is mumbled garbage. The spirit of man is the intellectual part of his being. And spiritual songs as songs which emphasizes the melody (simple tunes), where musicians are guided by the Spirit to create songs that Edify the Son, should appeal both to man's intellect, and his emotions so to uplift his being about THE LORD's glory.
This song done by CHANCE the RAPPER possess an element that leads to a cognitive dissonance - a frenzy of emotions, and intellectual disconnect. Satan has deceived many in these contemporary times music should suit the culture. We really need to wake up to his vices.

This Chance Dude has gotten his highest recognition by the elite of this world. But I’m reminded so the Lord’s words - "For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?" Matt. 16:26 The devil has formed a stronghold on the hearts and minds of many, that they would consider themselves “blessed” even through the working of his (Satan’s) ministers.

  4. Miss Ann,

Craig Lewis' blog shows Franklin in subtle drag at the event. Can we be very careful when we assume that Franklin, Chance, Caesar, Winans, & them are representing Christ?

We need to STOP thinking that just because someone is brave enough to mention the name of Jesus to the masses, then they are brave. It is a ploy. The devil is out to deceive (Revelation 12:9, 20:10-15).

The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall NOT want...

  5. I don't know who Chance is but maybe we should give him a chance LOL.

    -Big Chris

    1. Or Maybe NOT!!! I've seen his movie before. CRAP RAP turned GOSPEL...No thanks...

    2. @ Big Chris,

"And what concord hath Christ with Belial?..." 2 Corinthians 6:15

Chance has signed a contract and is owned by the recording company. His life right now CANNOT be turned to Christ. He must make money for the company in return for the Grammys and fame.

There is no chance that Chance can turn away from that (pun so intended). Unless he sells all he has, denies himself, carries his cross, follows Christ, and purposes to live according to God's precepts (Luke 9:23). Believing that God who has saved him will supply all his needs (Philippians 4:19). No fame or fortune. And that's the hard part. For mammon makes it easy to despise and take the LORD's name in vain. While fooling the unsuspecting Christians by mentioning the name Jesus.

The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall NOT want...

  6. And what is Kirk got on? Too much to say on this posting....

  7. Chance is not with a record label.
