Color of Blood – Lecrae Promotes What He Should Be Preaching Against????

Reader some are calling Lecrae, a wolf in sheep's clothing after his latest collaboration with Rapper Ty Dolla Sign, using James 4:4 to do it.  In my humble opinion, this is an endless debate that I don't like to really get into because people try to spin this however they can to make it fit their own views. I'm not hating or judging this at all I kind of like what Lecare is attempting to do. I'm just sharing the information. Do what you want with it. In Pastor G. Craige Lewis latest video The Truth Behind Hip Hop 11 Color of Blood, he discussed Ty Dolla Sign and the ungodliness that he and other new rappers are promoting.

According to Pastor Lewis, it’s much worse than it has ever been. Some of these rappers are literally not even human, just a shell full of dark matter. They defy all decency and are vulgar to the core. Their lyrics are dark and demonic. They have no light in them whatsoever and they are poised to destroy the minds and hearts of this generations. They are taking advantage of technicalities like fatherlessness, lack of guidance, and abandonment. They lure youth into sexual vice by the vulgarities that they promote in their lyrics and music.

  1. Miss Ann,

Hip hop is a cult. Gospel hip hop artists pretend to love Jesus and yet actually despise our LORD (Matthew 6:24). For they love the money (serve mammon) but use the LORD's name to get the pay check.

The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall NOT want...

  2. This dude is a clown and has back-slidden. Repentance needed and if I saw him, I'd say it in love... brother, you have totally lost your way. Come back like the prodigal, asap.

    1. I agree that he is starting to "trend" the wrong way more watered down per se but he in his albums he still has positive messages and he still reps Jesus and Jesus'name are all over his songs on his own albums.

Now these crossover songs and collabs I'm not the biggest fan of but I do still like Crea. I'm still a fan and I think he is far from a "clown".

Praying for you and the 116 clique.

  3. You can never, ever, make Hip Hop Holy. That's like taking an old dirty grimy filthy muddy statue of Buddha, washing it, cleaning it, shining it, and putting it in the Church of God's holy altar and paying homage to it. IT JUST DOES NOT WORK! IT'S BLASPHEMY! IT'S SPIRITUAL BIPOLAR!!!

Hip Hop music is worldly! 1 John 2:15-17 plainly states, "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world."

    1. I disagree. Some of the most Godly lyrics I've ever heard were from a Christian rap song. I don't think God is angry or wouldn't accept those songs. In fact I wouldn't be shocked if God isn't HONORED by those songs and accepts them. #PraiseGod

    2. Big Chri$ -

The Scriptures says psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, making melody in your heart. This is the major music text of the NT. Most Christians like LaCrae, shy away for the hymns as we know it, casting their judgment to say the hymns are not fit for the times. Nevermind the composition and the arrangement of these songs, and the life of the artist who pen them. And when it comes to Spiritual songs, you may conclude the idea these songs are Spirit filled, as led by Him to honor the Son. Most of these songs by artists like Lacrae have a flavor where the emphasis is more about the artists personal experiences, rather that the uplifting and the honoring the Son. If you study the hymns in an old hymn book, you can't help but to not the emphasis placed on the Glory of God and his attributes, and when we as his believers are mentioned, we are merely talked about from a lowly place.

  4. Hip Hop is of the Devil. It's his kingdom for cult. You can't make it Holy. These folks Have sold there SOULS for Fame,Clothes,Gold Jewelry,Platinum Jewelry,Silver Jewelry,Cars,Homes,Whores (Male and Female). Any Gospel Artist that records and hangouts with Hip Hop artists aren't saved. They have one foot in the church one foot in the world. They have a repobated mind. What have light with darkness. They are playing church .

    1. I think music is amoral just like a gun or fire etc. It can be used for good or bad. Good people will make godly music with it bad ppl evil music. I think a lot of the Christian rap can be ascribed as good and God honoring therefore morally acceptable and approval.

      -Big Chri$

    2. Music is never amoral. A note on a scale standing alone has no meaning in and of itself. Just like a letter in the alphabet alone has no meaning by itself.

Now when letters are used to make words, then meaning comes to light. The same with music. When notes are arranged and composed to make music, it carries on meaning and emotion and effect. Like with the old silent movies, where the actors do not say a word, the musician can create a feeling of fear, anger, joy, and other type emotions. Music is language and not amoral.

Experts in certain type genre know they can use certain kinds of rhythms to get women to move in a sexual way. It's said about Rock and Roll is 99% sex, because the big beat matches the body's rhythm. Some beats if used in certain ways can actually put one in an hypnotic state.

It's no surprise the LORD says making "MELODY" in your hearts. When songs are arranged where the MELODY is the main feature, it's more than likely to have a positive affect.

That's why we as Christians need to be careful how we do music in our churches, and in our personal lives.

  5. For all yall ppl that said Hip Hop is evil and of the devil etc. What music do you listen to? I'm sure you guys listen to music probably music much WORSE than LeCrea's which isn't bad at all especially the lyrics. Yall bashing a dude who promotes Christ but will lift up Beyonce or Chris Brown smh. And to anyone who says they dont listen to music at all is LYING!!! You have to listen to something. What are you listening too bc believe me 9xs out of 10 it is MUCH worse than LeCrea's music. I think these Christian Hip hop Artist or any of these rapper's promoting Christ are ok bc the messages are good and they advise kids to do the right thing and to love Jesus. Like how is that ever wrong? Yall tripping. Bashing him but then going to log off so you can listen to your R.Kelly or Usher or for yall old timers the Diana Ross or AL Green. Hypocrisy anyone lol.

    1. Big Chri$,

Living according to the precepts of God is to know and understand what trash is and treat it as such. “But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord…” (Philippians 3:7-8). Now that is something you know nothing about.

For you to claim that we as old school still listen to Diana Ross or Al Green or probably that we lift Beyoncé and Chris Brown is not to know who we are in Christ. Promoting Christ does NOT in any way equal to living according to the precepts of God. The bible clearly tells us to have no part with wickedness. “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.” (Ephesians 5:11 - 12). I am yet to hear LeCrae reproving Dolla Sign and his ilk.

The young people who you claim are being given a message by LeCrae and Dolla Sign are actually being led through the broad road that leads to destruction (Matthew 7:13 - 14).

It would do you good to learn to read the word of God and live by his precepts. It is for your life, preservation, wisdom, knowledge and understanding (Psalm 119).

Quit listening to LeCrae and Co. thinking that it is Christian music just because they say so. Read the word of God, it has been tried, tested (Psalms 12:6) and found to be true (John 17:17). Now that is something you need to know about that these hip hop artists no nothing about.

The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall NOT want…

    2. Big Chri$--look at the irony of the dollar signs in your name. Are you all about the Benjamins? (Benjamin Franklin on the $100 dollar bill)

The Lord dealt with me about the so-called "clean" old school music...I started thinking about the lyrics and realized that MOST of the "old school" music lyrics are fleshly and carnal!

♪"Who's that Lady?" by the Isley Brothers..is a song about a man lusting about a woman he sees. In the song the woman says "LOOK. BUT DON'T TOUCH." If a woman says that to a man, it means that she is teasing him. A teasing / flirtatious woman is on the same level as a harlot.

♪ "Brick House" by Lionel Ritchie (the Commodores) is another song about a man lusting about a woman.

♪ "You make me feel like a natural woman" by Aretha Franklin...In the song, she says that her man is the "KEY TO MY PEACE OF MIND." I have had my world shaken by too many people. Not anymore.Only the PRINCE of PEACE is the key to my peace of mind!

♪ "Your love is real" by Cheryl Lynn. This song should only be song to a woman's husband. But Cheryl Lynn is singing about a male lover.

♪ "Forever my Lady" by Jodeci is about a man who got his girlfriend pregnant and he's talking about how much he likes her. THESE kind of songs are the reason why most black children are born out of wedlock!

♪ "Let's Groove Tonight" by Earth, Wind and Fire. This song is about a couple spending the night together. And the couple isn't married!

♪ "As We Lay" or "Me and Mrs Jones Got a Thing Going On" or "Secret Lovers" by Atlantic Starr are songs about committing ADULTERY!!

I only listen to about 5% of old school music now. 5% means very little. and I don't have time for "bubble gum" music either!

    3. Big Chris$$(I don't get the $$$ still either)...you gotta realize there is more to music and song, than just the lyrics. Personally I'm not really thrilled with the lyrics of most of laCrae's songs anyways. In his lyrics, he fails to mention Jesus. He repeats a lot of simple little phrases. His emphasis is more on himself, and he does not announce the greatness of God through His attributes.

Asides from the lyrics, there is melody, rhythm, harmony, and such. It's a known fact the way a song is arranged can have an emotional impact (positive or negative) on the listener because music is never neutral.

The songs you mentioned are worldly, and the artists know when their songs are arranged and performed, they will get a sensual rise out of people. THE BIBLE clearly emphasizes we should sing Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, making MELODY on our hearts.

Musically you need to stop feeding yourself these carnalast music. There is such a thing called a hymn book, though no popular to many, is filled with rich music that will bless your spirit.

We gotta be wise and hard as it may be, separate ourselves from this world through prayer and the Spirit's guidance.

      Get outta here!!!

    4. Idk about yall but I LIKE music and listen to it. Music is one of the things God GAVE US. Why abandon it or neglect it. Because I like music I'm going to listen to it. And bc I'm a Christian I would like to listen to Godly music ppl talking about Jesus worshipping him giving him the praise and glory. That is what Christian rap and other Christian music does. It let's me still enjoy music and exalt and praise God at the same time.

Maybe yall only read the Bible all day long no music no TV just toilet paper in a one room apartment... idk. I believe in being set apart but that's taking it too far LOL. Normal ppl listen to music. Even normal CHRISTIANS. And if I'm listening to music then it might as well be CHRISTIAN music. Just saying...

      -BIG Chri$

    5. If you are going to listen to music BIG CHRI$, just don't forget your hymnal and other sacred songs out there as well or else you get caught up in the snowball, and end up like LaCrae and those other artists you seem to enjoy...IJS...
