Dallas Megachurch Pastor Robert Morris On Racism!

Image
Reader kudos to this pastor for saying what he said, and for how he said it, straight with no chaser. During a sermon this past weekend, Pastor Robert Morris of Dallas’ Gateway Church — one of the largest in the country — explained how racism is partly the church problem.  This past weekend, Pastor Robert Morris shared a powerful message titled “A Lack of Understanding” where he encouraged the church to stand against the evils of racism. Must watch, your jaw will drop.  You can only imagine how the rest of the sermon went.

Check out the clip below.

What Would You Do??

Reader, this woman walks into your church dressed this way and sits close to the front. When approached by an elder she says that she desires prayer. Should her attire be addressed or should she be left alone?

Comments

  1. Ms. Ann I would pray for her right then and there. The focus should be that God is speaking to her heart to first of all be bold enough to walk in a church and two to get prayer. If she is running to the church to get prayer it is obvious that this woman recognizes the need for God to fix it for her. If the Holy Spirit is in the church at all then after she comes to the Lord in her heart then there would be a sincere conviction to change her dress on her own...she may even start to feel uncomfortable in the current outfit. when we let God convict then it will be real change not religious legalism. Now if the people in the church can not handle this type of dress temporarily so God can deal with this woman then perhaps the people need to put their own lust on the alter to be delivered so they can truly help others get delivered.

  2. My question, what would Jesus do? I'm most certain that Jesus would NEVER turn her away. He said He came to call the sinners not the righteous to repentance. God loves everyone regardless of their attire. If the lady is seeking repentance, it's our duty to do what God has called us to do. God I pray that we who call ourselves Christians will have a heart like yours. Thanks you Lord that you are the final judge because if it was left up to man we would destroy each other and destroy your church.

    1. I don't know. This day and age, people are liable to do anything. The reaction is to deal with them in love, bind and cast that spirit out.

  4. Just how do you know that?

    2. Have you been to every church? Humm, that's what I thought!

    3. You asked a rhetorical question and gave an answer. Cray Cray.

Look...here's my point. I've never seen this happen. Nobody I know have never told me they've seen this happen. You've never seen this happen. Nobody you know have ever seen this happen. And I doubt anybody here, and anyone they know have never seen this happen.

I just think to open for discussion such an over exaggeration will only stir a divide, the "compassionate" and the "judgmental". Kinda like in house fighting over the improbable.

Yet you come here with your follow on question to somethimg inconceivable, only to follow that one up asking if I've ever been to every church. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

If you have a response to the hypothetical (pardon me if thos is actusl Ms. Ann) question posed, have at it. No need to argue with me about something unlikely.

    4. With all that mouth you got running, the question still remains the same, have you been to every church? If you can't answer yes to that then you need to zip-it. You can only speak of what you know about. If you don't know if someone have ever dressed in this particular fashion been in church before, somewhere asking for help, then You just don't know.

    5. You are hilarious!!! Look..you better watch your mouth telling the prophet to "zip it".

  5. I must say with what Andrea Moffatt said in this day and age, you just don't know. HOWEVER. I have not been to every church, but I've been to alot across the U.S. The worse I've seen were sistas walking in with tights on. And yes, the minister used wisdom and the church did also and carried on with the Holy Ghost the way Christ would want us to. My church we've had drug addicts, street folks, you name it to walk in and we loved them and our pastor didn't HOLD BACK ON THE WORD AND GET SCARED LIKE MOST PREACHERS WOULD. (I didn't say all). Anyway, I haven't seen anyone dress EXACTLY as the pic here posted, if someone did walk into our church, yes a few folk would freak out and don't say ya'll would've, but we would continue on as would my pastor with the word of God in love.

    1. I heard a testimony from an Evangelist who was holding a revival in Africa
(not sure if the story is true, but this is what he claimed happened :)
He said there was a man who was demon possesed who came to the church mtg completly naked a few times, but no 1 in the congregation said anything to him and kind of ignored him
On the final night of the revival guess who came in fully dressed and in their right mind?
Allegedly the naked demon possesed man
God is able and He said In His Holy Word that ANYONE who come to HIM He would No Wise cast them out :)
No if it was years and years later after a person been delivered, that is another story
But to be honest people need to mind their own business and worry about their own soul salvation
Because it is something wrong with every1, Saved or Unsaved

  6. Jimmy Swaggart stated that many years ago when he was running crusades, a girl came to the altar dressed scantily. He said he didn't like it and God rebuked him for that. I think he said in his mind he thought "That girl knows better than to do come in here dressed like that." God dealt with him saying that girl needed deliverance. Rev. Swaggart obeyed God and prayed for the girl. I believe he said the girl got healed and filled with the Holy Ghost.

    1. But when he said scantly, did he mean like the stripper here in the pic? I seriously doubt it.

And speaking of Jimmy Swaggart, we already know about him and scantly cladded women!

  8. If a woman came dressed like this to church, I think it is every appropriate to offer her something to help cover her more appropriately. Just because it's the church, does not mean everything and anything is allowed. There still must be order. If a woman came like this to JESUS, I can see one of his disciples giving her their coat.
