Trump says he’s fulfilled his promises to Christians, but he really means white evangelicals

Image
Reader according to The Washington Post, it sounds like 45 will be fulfilling no more campaign promises made to white conservative evangelicals. I repeat, in "my opinion", white conservative evangelical Christians are among the very worst people this country has every produced. Given half a chance, they would re-institute slavery, stone women to death in the streets for adultery (but never the men), legalize rape, execute homosexuals en masse, cart Jews off to the gas chambers, and set the world on fire all in the name of their god. We know this because they tell us that's what they want to do. They're proud of their hate until you call them monsters. Then you're attacking their faith and they're being "persecuted."

The White Evangelical Church No Longer Speaks For Christ.

Reader, as a Christian and one who seeks to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, I am extremely disheartened at the hypocrisy of all those Christians who voted for Donald Trump. "The White Evangelical Church" has betrayed the Gospel of Christ in their support of Trump. Exit polls show that 88% of white evangelicals voted for Trump. In my opinion, "The White Evangelical Church" no longer speaks for Christ. The article linked here explains why. Some believe the glory of God has departed from Conservative Christianity......they have sold their soul and lost their moral and spiritual voice. They have rejected the tenets of our faith by giving power to a man who himself rejects what Christ taught. The very immorality that Franklin Graham, Jerry Falwell Jr, Pat Roberson, James Dodson, etc cried buckets of crocodile tears over and acted so pious about when Bill Clinton was president they have now embraced with Donald Trump and swept it under the rug because his politics match theirs. So much for upholding "family values." I guess they don't care how they make Christians look to the world.

  1. Miss Ann,

The conservative Christians did not let you down. They flocked with their own kind who is a reflection of who they are at the chore.

That's certified leaven of the Pharisees and Herod all rolled into one (Mark 8:15).

Don't even for one second think that being a Conservative Christian = a believer in the LORD Jesus who has purposed to live according to the precepts of God almighty.

They are truly sons of Belial hiding behind Christianity. Behind the scenes, they SIN! (Pun definitely intended).

    1. Anonymous I agree and I would go further and say conservative Christians lost their connection to Christ a very long time ago when they decided government should force all Americans to adhere to conservative Christian religious beliefs. In addition they abandoned any claim to patriotism by seeking theocracy in direct contravention of the founding principles of this nation. This is by definition unarguable. That being said, they have a right to their beliefs but NOT a right to have their way with government.

This should be a wake up call for the negro that go to multicultural churches you are going to church with someone who has voted for someone who took the position that he took... don't hand me that but God forgives etc....you are really stupid. And if there still anymore Black people in Paula Whites church now would be a good time to leave . I think the best thing to come out of Trump run for president is that it has exposed the level of racism in this country and some of the false prophets in God's church.

  5. This stuff just makes me laugh. People all up in arms because this man got elected. You have got to be JOKING if you think that Hillary Clinton is portraying a good Christian character...REALLY? (killing babies, murderous acts, Lieing, and MANY other ungodly things, and you TRUST this woman?? Why didn't people riot & protest when Bush/Obama/others were elected?? (shows the ignorance and hatred of some people). God knows where your heart is at... BELIEVE- YOU- ME...HE KNOWS. BTW, I guess I should divorce my wife of 35 years (YEAH, RIGHT!!) because she would fall into the category of a ***** Evangelical (WORLDLY church terminology). You need not worry, BECAUSE, Trump will be exposed by God just like all the others who call themselves SO-CALLED Christians. Jesus, PLEASE help us. So, For what it's worth...ONLY JESUS! 2. Thank you Miss Ann!

In Christ Alone - do not think that my posting against Mr. Trump is equivalent to supporting Mrs. Clinton.

I am neither for Trump nor for Clinton, I am on the LORD's side. (Like the captain of the host of the LORD - Joshua 5:14 [who is Jesus, our perfect example {John 13:15 & 1 Peter 2:21}]).

It is unfortunate that believers have been taught over the years that political leaders will lead them to salvation of sorts. Not True! What is true is that it has been established in the WORD of God that the kings of the earth are against the Lord and his Son Jesus Christ (Psalm 2:2 and Acts 4:26).

My word to all (Democrats, Republicans, Independents,...) is Hebrews 13:12-14 "Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate. Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach. For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come." We should not embroil ourselves in politics, we DO NOT belong.

Doesn't mean anything to me. I believe the Word Of God and she is picking out what SHE want to hear. AND, history wasn't made with Ms. Clinton, so get over it...God is STILL supreme. 7. This is a very interesting article, but NOT because of its position toward Donald Trump.
"Long after Donald Trump is inaugurated ... a closely watching world will remember ... the evangelical church’s disgraceful posture in the 2016 election: bowing to Trump, rather than bowing to Christ."
The condemnation of evangelical support for Trump, especially among church leadership, clearly shows that there are those who find a conflict between claiming to be a Christian and backing someone like him.
... but it makes you wonder, IF Jesus was on earth, WOULD he endorse Trump?
    Would he endorse Clinton?
Would he endorse Johnson or Stein? (Let's be for real who's gonna run with the losers? )
Considering the fact that people who identify with Christianity (in theory) base their lives on the way Jesus lived, it is reasonable to wonder how he would approach this situation.
How would the designated King of the Kingdom that will destroy ALL the governments of the world (Daniel 2:44) feel about participating in the election of a representative to lead one of the governments he will eventually destroy?

  10. What saddens me is the lack of investigation many Christians failed to do on Hillary Clinton. History has proven over the past 30 years Hillary Clinton and the Clinton family have done more evil and crimes then all the mob bosses combined. I don't understand why any people of color are so in love with the Clintons when the policies they put in place were for our downfall.

Wikileaks exposed how the DNC put Trump in office by choosing Hillary over the candidate that marched with Dr. King and fought for our rights -Bernie Sanders.

Furthermore, every citizen has the right to vote their conscience. This is not about black Christians vs. white Christians... have you cinsidered how white Christians felt when black Christians were labeling Obama the second Moses? Have you considered how white Christians felt for 8 years by a president who led this nation into judgement?

I don't believe in politics... I believe in God and His Word. Whatever Christian who's not standing on God's Word has departed from God.

  11. Jesus did not come to lead a popular revolt against the Romans, who at that time ruled over the Holy Land. He knew that political power could never solve our personal problems or our nation's problems. He dealt with the sins of mankind! He dealt with OUR sins. He went to the cross because of our sins!!  He went to the cross because we were alienated and separated from God.  He did not come to earth to deal with issues about loyalty to our flag, whether or not kids recite the pledge of allegeiance in schools and if prayer is allowed in schools. God's kingdom is concerned about souls!  It is only faith in Jesus Christ (not politics) that will save souls from the judgment sin deserves. Jesus came to call sinners to repentance because He LOVED THEM and He had an eternal focus not a temporary one (His kingdom is not of this world). Sorry, folks, Jesus’ agenda wasn't political, isn't political and will never be political (His kingdom is not of this world). So, my question is why do some Christians (those who say Christ is their Lord and Savior) insist on fighting a battle for a kingdom they are no longer a part of. JESUS' KINGDOM IS NOT OF THIS WORLD!!

All the hoopla, the protests, the discouragement set in by this election, show the spiritual state of many in this society, and moreso, those who profess to be Christians.

Doesn’t really matter…if Donald Trump or Hilary Clinton entered the White House. Neither one of them are Christians. Not that they have to be a Christian to be president.

Now that Trump has been elected PONTUS, he nor Congress, will not change the character of this country. There will continue to be a push to destroy the constitution. Big government will still continue to function. Our national debt will not disappear. There will be a disparity between the rich and those less fortunate. We will continue to be ruled by some faux Jews, and contribute billions to those apart of the “synagogue” of Satan in Israel. The homosexual agenda will continue to influence even on our children in the public schools, a place they are to be educated. The public school system will continue to serve as a “front”, to indoctrinate our children and students with lies and propaganda. Many in our society will persist in decadence, using all types of illegal drugs and alcohol. The thrust to legalize marijuana will ensue, creating a country fill of “potheads”. The effort to submerge Christianity, Christ, and the Bible will be propelled through enactment of laws as hate crime laws. Abortion, even in the last term of pregnancy, will continue at its rampart pace. People will leave the faith and speak as atheists. Crooked preachers and false prophets will arise to deceive many (more). Given the state of this country and the world, the LORD is still operating in the affairs of men, unlike what our deist friends may think.

  13. What I find troubling is the way Trump was/is upheld as more Christian than Clinton. That the Bible was/is being twisted to validate hate is a travesty. Many uphold the Republican stance on the Pro-Life matter and I get it, God creates life. I could also say that God gives us free will and after we've sinned whatever our sin is if we come to him repentant His forgiveness is available.

The thing is, I see no love of the many God created lives in many who uphold themselves as Pro-Life. I hear no love of the lives God created in the words they speak. Out of the abundance of many hearts I hear much that is counter to the blood bought redemption available through Christ.

It is bigger than either candidate and I was a fan of neither.

But don't twist God's word and use it to attack the very lives you claim to be for but perhaps some, let me be clear SOME, value life in the womb but not in the every day walking around especially when that life is wrapped up in skin or thought that is different from one's own.

  14. The LORD says “The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.” Proverbs 21:1

Now that Trump has been elected PONTUS, he nor Congress, will not change the character of this country. With all the evil taking place in our nation, I’m reminded of the prophet who said in Isaiah 64:1 “Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence,”. I think this should be a prayer for all of us Christians.
This verse was captured so beautifully in a SONG called “REND THE HEAVENS” done by Mary Lynn Van Gelderen, a beautiful soprano soloist, no vocal theatrics like Tamela Mann, and musically is a “spiritual song” emphasizing the melody (as admonished by SCRIPTURES to “make melody in your hearts”), not the rhythms and back beats where the MUSIC itself paints a picture of ” RENDING THE HEAVENS”:

O that thou wouldst rend the heavens
That thou would come down Again
    Making real thy wondrous presence
Melting down the hearts of men

    Rend the heavens
    Show thy presence
    Smile upon us
    By thy Throne
    Grant us mercy
    Bless thy people
    Rend the heavens
    Lord Come down

O that thou wouldst rend the heavens
Breaking through the clouds of night
Casting out the hosts of evils
Setting all thy foes to flight

    Rend the heavens
    Show thy presence
    Smile upon us
    By thy Throne
    Grant us mercy
    Bless thy people
    Rend the heavens
    Lord Come down

O that Thou wouldst rends the heavens
    Shining forth thy glory bright
Making known thy name in power
    Working wonders by thy might

    Rend the heavens
    Show thy presence
    Smile upon us
    By thy Throne
    Grant us mercy
    Bless thy people
    Rend the heavens
    Lord Come down

You would say about them their songs are not biblical, do not testify about the God of of Scriptures, and accentuate to uplift through selfishness and pride to put men and women on some pedestal of favor.
