Why Didn't Tasha Cobbs Show Up For The Woman of Gospel Event In Toronto Canada Last Night? Was It About The Money?

Image
Reader, there are two sides to every story. People have heard one side and have become the judge, the jury, and the executioner. You cannot come to a conclusion just based off of one party allegedly telling the truth-that is nonsense.

Anyhow rumors are being put forth on social media that Tasha Cobb refused to perform last night in Canada, because the venue hosting the event didn't have all her money.   What is in the dark, always comes to light.

Pastor Shirley Caesar #UNameItChallenge!

Reader today's entrepreneur lesson is brought to you by none other than Pastor Shirley Caesar. Pastor Shirley Caesar is taking the internet by storm with the original version of "Hold My Mule" that inspired the #UNameItChallenge. Pastor Shirley is taking it to the bank.

  2. You go Pastor Shirley....the devil is a lie.

  3. This is exactly the outcome (women twerking, dudes krumping, entertainment to the max) when you get a female Bishop, singing to story-tell a Song "Hold My Mule" ( what a title to express the gospel, huh?). Of all the stories and parables in the Bible Shirley choose to make this one. It's no accident the aspect of this song with flow as a re-mix, right into the spirit of those who would ridicule it as alomst laughable and goofy. The devil is a liar, and he will mix to deceive many. Not to add in a few bucks here and there as Jesus is just a product.

    However the prophet says " and they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and the profane, and cause them to discern between the clean and the unclean. Ezekiel 44:23

    The Lord offers a sacred admonishmentioned " speaking to yourself in Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs. It will bexperience very hard for anyone to ridicule that which is sacred and pure.

    1. Look, when you have your next family reunion, say hi to Uncle Tom for me.

      For those of you ^^ UNfamiliar with "Hold your Mule" Hold your Mule is a great Negro Spiritual! Those spirituals kept Black folks going while going through Jim Crow and the cotton fields!!

      But you New-fashioned Negroes have forgotten all about that! I saw you on here crowing about Mary Lyn whatsherface...and I chose not to respond. Now you Ridiculing "Hold your Mule"?!? You have some gall.

      I know Uncle Tom had descendants...one of tem IS YOU!

    2. Now you pout and cry, swallowing your salty tears because I talked about your poor little legend of “Gospel” music. As seemingly you need a history lesson, let me inform you, to be called “Uncle Tom” 150 years ago was considered a compliment. It was Tom’s devotion to his fellow slaves, he actually sacrificed his life and freedom to help the slaves. I would undermine to say thanks for the compliment, but I don’t subject to take hidden accolades from the devil, nor do I aspire in any way to strengthen the hands of the wicked.

      And your lie about the song “Hold my Mule” being a Negro spiritual, only goes to show your crooked ignorance about what a “spiritual song” is. Spirituals songs aren’t made-up lies about any man who wants to huck and buck and shimmy and let loose. I know the name Jesus means nothing much to you, but you can’t call a song ” that does not glorify God’s Son “spiritual”. It is the Spirit who glorifies the Son. John 16 13,14 states “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.”And contrary to the other lie you told, this song was NEVER used to keep black folks while going through “Jim Crow”. This is just typical rhetoric, in your case definitely misapplied.

      YOU need not soak in your fake blackness to blind yourself to the real "coonin". Try to a second…to allow your peanut brain to open your mouth to say about O Girl Shirley “bumbling around in a long silk dress, skippin’ and hoppin’ and grinnin’ and kickin’, talkin’ bout watermelon, and chitterlins’, and ham, and beans, and greens and hamhocks and dressin’, while silly black folks buck and krump, and nae nae, and shake their butts to her "Gospel" remix. All along this woman selling aprons and cups and tee shirts might as well be with black faces painted on them”. For you to allow yourself to be blind to all this buffoonery only proves YOU TOO ARE THE WORST KIND OF “Spiritual COON”.

      I suggest you cut out all the BLACK PRIDE foolishness, pick up your Bible once in a while, actually read it, and pray the LORD will SAVE YOU to remove the scales from your BLINDED EYES. For in Christ “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. Galation 3:28,29

      And by the way the Spiritual soloist name is Mary Lynn Van Gelderen…
      She did a beautiful rendition a song called “YOU ARE ALWAYS GOOD"...

      Looking back,
      I can see Your fingerprints
      Upon my life,
      Always seeking my best.
      There were times
      When Your way would make no sense,
      But as You said,
      You have never left.

      You are always good,
      You are only good;
      You are always good to me.
      Though my eyes can't see,
      Help my heart believe
      You are always,
      Only good.

      Looking in,
      I can see my frailty;
      My sin is great,
      And my strength is so small.
      Still You stay,
      And Your mercy shelters me;
      You hold my hand, a
      And You hear my call.

      You are always good,
      You are only good;
      You are always good to me.
      Though my eyes can't see,
      help my heart believe
      You are always,
      Only good.

      Looking up,
      I can see Your sympathy;
      I doubt myself,
      But I'm sure of Your love.

      Lavish grace
      Was poured out at Calvary,
      Securing me
      For our home above.
      You are always good,
      You are only good;
      You are always good to me.
      Though my eyes can't see,
      help my heart believe
      You are always,
      Only good.
      YOU ARE ALWAYS GOOD!!!

    3. Mr Frosty the Snowman, I can cut-and-paste too...

      And by the way the Spiritual soloist name is Shirley Caesar…Shirley did a beautiful rendition a song called “NOTHING FOR MY JOURNEY" Don't it bring tears to your eyes?

      Nothing For My Journey Lyrics
      (Chorus)
      I wouldn't take nothing for my journey now
      I wouldn't take nothing for my journey now
      Nothing for my journey now
      Come too far to turn around
      Come too far to turn around
      (Repeat)

      (Verse I)
      Running for Jesus, I've been running for a mighty long time
      And I haven't, I'm not tired yet
      I get so discouraged and so afraid
      So I look to the hills from whence cometh my help
      I'd rather know the home, beyond this world of chains

      (Repeat Chorus)

      (Verse II)
      It's mighty good to know him, to know him for yourself
      I'm going to live for Jesus and nobody else
      You can't stop me, you can't turn me around
      I'm on my way to Heaven and I won't turn around
      I'm on my way to higher ground

      (Repeat Chorus)

      (Special Chorus)
      Too far, I've come too far
      (Repeat As Directed)

      To End Song:
      Come too far to turn around
      Come too far to turn around
      Come too far to turn around
      =============================

      NOW...since “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus."

      Then....why is ALL of your favorite artists, White? Get your fleshly pride out of the way and say SOMETHING good about a Black artist or pastor!! You keep bringing up the likes of Kirk and B-Slade but that's a cop-out to paint all Black artists with the same brush!!

      Tell the whole story about Uncle Tom! He was so in love with his white massa that he let massa beat him up! Massa was the world to him!

      You probably make fun of Black history month too!

    4. You just won’t let it go would you? And every time you respond, your efforts become more and more feeble. There you go again, supporting “Passa Shirley”, liking a good ole “church coonin”. Shame on you!

      You are right! That song of hers really bought tears to my eyes, from all the laughing, just imagining Shirley singing that jig, while tumbling and bumbling and kicking her high heels, all dressed up in her Sunday Best, while folks get clappy and happy and jerky, spitting and falling out.

      Enough all that garbage. Now let me give you a “spiritual “ breakdown the song I listed “You Are Good Always”, and the one you listed done by O Girl Shirley.
      See…the song entitled “You Are Good Always”, pours out in meaning the character of God, His “Goodness”. No matter things don’t make sense to us, where we through our human frailties can’t see or understand our trials, the LORD is good despite our sins and weaknesses. The artists notes to glorify God, not only He is Good, but Goodness is always a part of His character. And musically, this song is arranged so where the music compliments the lyrics.
      Now the lyrics you listed is typical O Girl Shirley where she emphasizes as what Shirley would do, NOTHING ABOUT GOD AND HIS CHARACTER, never glorifying Him. “I wouldn’t take nothing for MY…I’ve been running…I’m not tired…”I “ “I” “I”…”me” me” me”…Like I said before, a song that is Spirit led, will glorify the Son.

      Amazing you tell me to tell the whole story about Uncle Tom. You were the one who brought Him first, and when you did, you ONLY TOLD PART OF THE STORY. YOU are not only a” COON”, but a “FOON” (buffon). Let me remind you, this is a BLOG. I respond to the topics posted by the author. Just so happen, she publishes stories on Kirk, B-Slade, Jackie Carr, Mary Mary, and Good Old Shirley. I guess she bring up these folks because they are a part of the “OLDBLACKCHURCH”.

      You can reach and claw and scratch all you want, but you’ll end up all bruised and burning forever if you don’t stop this spiritual coonin’, letting your black “pride” get in the way you knowing the truth about matters only as outlined in Scriptures. You better GET RIGHT or…

    5. At least with Shirley song, I know WHO she talking about. The name above ALL names--Jesus!! You might need bifocals or something, cause THERE IS NO MENTION about which God or Jesus in Miss Mary's song. I guess we'll have to assume it's God because she said the word "Calvary." LOL Man you can't see the forest for the trees!! There is so many things going on in your commentary, I haven't even scratched the surface!

      Uncle Tom was a fictional GENTLE character. Naw, you're more like UNCLE RUCKUS. A man who prefers EVERYTHING NILLA! I like vanilla too but I'd be stupid NOT like the CHOCOLATE-NESS of black people!

      You always praising the NILLA SAINTS. That is why you is a "coon."

      I tried not to go here but Imma bout to...Does your granddaughter play with dolls... does she ONLY have blonde blue-eyed dolls??

    11. My only problem is if you would go back...I started my comment about Shirley and my opinion to her antics. The next anonymous took a dig to reference my "uncle tom" at my next family reunion. Personally I thought you should have cut it off there. Then he goes on with the coon description, to which I talked about cooningredients more in reference to my opinion about behavior. He then went onot to bring my granddaughter into the discussion. I take none of this personally. I just don't get the rules for name calling and your decision to say things are getting out of hand. After all like I mentowned this is a BLOG. NONE of what happened was not going to lead to a physical altercation.

      God bless...

  5. I visited her church in Raleigh back in 2001 when it was first built. There was 20 minute offering period where one of her female ministers officiated. You had money lines from if I remember correctly was from $1000 to $50. The minister asked how many folks had cell phones and said I know the bill was more than $50. After pastor Caesar's sermon on the 10 lepers, she opened the doors of the church and said that if you were hesitant about joining under a female Pastor, her husband that was in the pulpit was the bishop. Also in her closing remarks, she commented that the sound system was $15K. Let's just say that was the last time I visited.
