More Americans Say That You Can Be Good Without God?

Image
Reader for the first time, a majority of Americans — 56 percent — say it is possible to be a good person without a religious belief. So says new Pew Research Center data drawn from two polls conducted among about 5,000 American adults in June and July. “God is not a prerequisite for good values and morality,” Greg Smith, Pew’s associate director of research, said in a post about the findings. ” … [T]he public’s increased rejection of the idea that belief in God is necessary for morality is due, in large part, to the spike in the share of Americans who are religious ‘nones.

It's Going To Be Hard For Baptists To Get Aboard New Age Teaching?!?!?!?

Reader the name “Baptist” has come to mean many things to many people, and so it can sometimes cause confusion. Just the notion that Bishop Carlton Pearson is preaching at any church with the name Baptist in the title is confusing, and line blurring.  As with any other church, the name above the door is not as important as what is taught inside.

In the past twenty so years,  New Age influence has been steadily creeping into many of our churches.  New Agers do not believe in evil. Therefore, they do not accept man's problem as separation by sin from God. Instead, they believe that each of us has forgotten his or her own divinity. Therefore, the New Age solution is to seek "higher consciousness" through meditation, breathing exercises, yoga, diet, crystals, channeling. spirit guides, and more. Each of these diverse practices has the same purpose: to awaken the god in man.

  1. Beware. Carlton is a heretic. He believes satan will be redeemed. I kid you not.

  2. It's not so much "new age", as it is his "doctrine of inclusion". Whereas new agers (ie. Oprah Winfrey) teach every person is god and all is one, Carlton teaches the heresy all men and woman and child will go to heaven. This is totally and out of line with Scriptures. Sad thing is many who call themselves espouse to a doctrine their is no such thing as hell. Carlton choose to ignore the Bible to follow the rational of his own ways. He couldn't believe his grandfather who first claim faith, turned his back on the Christian way, would end up in hell. "His ways are not our ways, neither is His thoughts, our thoughts". 2. Miss Ann,

Galatians 1:8-9 "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you... let him be accursed."

2 John 9 "Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ hath not God..."

Hebrews 6:1-6 "Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection... For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened... and have tasted of the good word of God... If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance."

The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall NOT want...

  3. What happened to biblical discernment? While I'm a preacher who identifies with the Baptist Doctrine, it saddens me to see so many baptist pastors leading their congregations astray. You'll can have these new age baptists... I'll stick with God and His Word...
