Pastor Le'Andria Johnson Starring In Stage Play "Spare The Rod Spoil The Child!"

Reader,  Tall One Outreach Ministries presents "Spare the Rod, Spoil the Child" gospel stage play at the Lincoln Theatre, Washington, DC, on November 5, 2016, at 7:30 PM. The award-winning gospel stage play is written by Dr. Mildred Summerville and directed by James A. House. In this gripping and engaging dramatic piece, a woman simple known as "Grandma" serves as the pillar of her surroundings. Her son's family is in crisis, and those within her neighborhood are drowning in chronic troubles of their own. Through it all, Grandma seeks God on behalf of those who are not spiritually inclined enough to seek Him for themselves. Even those who resent her, such as her son's sometimes-rigid wife, Linda, ultimately end up on Grandma's prayer list. And when the walls of the lives of those around Grandma seem to come tumbling down, they know who to turn to for guidance and sound counsel. It's not always advice that they want to hear, but it is consistently the precise word needed to steer them in the right direction.
Pastor Le'Andria Johnson is the first Sunday Best contestant to receive a Grammy Award for her vocals, is starring in the stage play. The show has sold out in Georgia & North Carolina and is now coming to the Lincoln theater in Washington, D.C.

Le'Andria Johnson to star in 'Spare the Rod, Spoil the Child' stage play at Lincoln Theatre

  1. Performances like these will BE best done at the CHURCH of THYATIRA and the CHURCH of LAODICEA. GET OUTTA HERE!!!

    1. Good grief, it's at a theater! These type of plays are like the Black version of Leave it to Beaver and Father Knows Best. It's bout time black folks have our own plays!

What do you mean “Good Grief?

Isn’t this the way Tyler Perry started out? Now look where he's at, ON TV IN DRAG, CUSSIN, SEXUAL PROMISCUITY, USING GOD's NAME in VAIN, MAKING A mockery of GOD, PRAYER and HIS WORD, all the while undermining to Cash $$$ in off Black Folk for SATAN. There are no “real” fruit that come out of these Black Gospel Plays. Can’t you see? No one gets saved. No one gets redeemed. No one gets delivered. If I’m wrong, and since you seem to support this garbage, you share you testimony or the testimony of someone you know who have attended these plays, their redemption or deliverance. All they get is the laughter of being entertained while the Gospel is made a mockery of.

Your comparison using “Leave It To Beaver” and “Father Knows Best” is a HORRIBLE ONE. At least with “Leave It To Beaver” and “Father Knows Best”, all I have to do is purchase a TV, and watch as many shows as you choose for FREE. These shows do not make a mockery of spiritual things. As a matter of fact, “Leave It To Beaver” and “Father Knows Best” tend to showcase values, like family and doing what’s right. These shows are buffoonery-free, unlike the antics of Mr. Brown and MaDEA. I mean why would we want to stoop so low, and brush off the obvious is beyond me! And you go on to say Anonymous, it’s about time Black Folks own their own plays? YOU’VE got to be kidding me, RIGHT? The last thing BLACK FOLKS need to OWN are “plays like these”, all the jester and clowning and bumbling non-sense, and calling it Christian. Believe it or not, there are a lot of Black people who takes Christianity way more serious, and to many of them, this junk is not CUTE.

Just a few verses, and I am going to close my message...(LOL)…

Galatians 6:7 “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”

Sooo…you better watch out Tyler Perry and LeAndria…GOD IS GOING to get YOU…

Revelation 3:16 “So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. “

And a WARNING TO YOU Mr. “own our own plays” ANONYMOUS…

Keep supporting this mockery and this lukewarm behavios, and you watch, one day… He just may tell you GETTA OUTTA HERE, and spit you out RIGHT IN

    2. Get Outta Here!!!

      You are right!

Plays whether gospel or secular are for entertainment and do not lead one to salvation and/or redemption. What people in church have failed to understand is that Christianity is not for show. It is a hard life that needs one to give up a lot of worldly ways and to separate oneself from a lot of foolishness. More so, there is no earthly reward like these so-called “gospel entertainers” would want us to believe. Ref to Paul in 2 Timothy 2 and John in Revelation 1:9.

No longer should Christians be fooled or blinded. And do not allow people to quote that Jesus came to give us life in abundance. The life that Christ gave for us is eternal life and has nothing to do with worldly riches (John 10:10 and 17:3). That is why it is important to read the WHOLE bible in its entirety for one to have this understanding.

Cease to support mess because they name the name of our LORD Jesus Christ in their entertainment productions (Matthew 7:21)

The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall not want…

    3. Amen "The LORD is my Shepherd"...Your reference to 2 Timothy 2 is sooooo... ON POINT!

Christianity is a life where we have to die daily. And just like Mr. Steak eater couldn't seem to understand "CONTENTMENT", many even here can't seem to grip that to "die daily" to this FLESH and THIS WORLD is GAIN.

"It's no that they can't believe, rather it's that they WON'T BELIEVE".

      So sad...SMH...

    4. A LOT of people won't set FOOT in a church. That's why it's so important for so-called Christian plays to teach the Word while they're acting! AND they should have an altar call when the play is finished. Unfortunately, most of these plays don't do that. People leave with a "feel-good" feeling and go back to their sinful ways after the good feeling wears off!

  3. Let the church say...Amen
