Pastor Joel Osteen's New Book, Think Better You Live Better!

Reader, what do you think about this? A church in Forney Texas announced via social media that beginning Oct 16, all Sunday guests will receive a FREE copy of Pastor Joel's new book, "Think Better, Live Better."

Pastor Joel Osteen on Oct,4th released a new book in which he shares how reprogramming your thoughts to remove negativity will lead to a more blessed, fulfilled life. Your mind has incredible power over your success or failure. THINK BETTER, LIVE BETTER offers a simple yet life-changing strategy for erasing the thoughts that keep you down and reprogramming your mind with positive thinking to reach a new level of victory.

  1. Words like reprogramming, negative, positive are not biblical. This is the same fellow who stated "fake it till you make it" or something to that effect.

Is his book truth? No! He is a motivational speaker by all means using Christianity as a front. They all are these days, anyway.

Jesus Christ came that we might have life and this life is E.T.E.R.N.A.L! But the life that Joel is providing is for now (refer to his book by the same name "Your Best Life Now") and not eternal. Because he knows his self won't be crossing over to eternal life. Don't follow him to destruction.

    God bless!

    1. Well said...I like your phrase "using Christianity as a FRONT"...

  2. Typical Joel.

The world is GREAT, if you just get rid of the negative thinking.

I will send his books to
The families of unarmed black man being shot,

to the Christians about to be beheaded

To the victims of terror bombings around the world.

I wonder what 11 of the apostles were "THINKING" before they were killed for following Christ.

  3. Personally, I like Joel Osteen and his teachings. I'm all for anyone who consistently preaches love, despite our differences. The bible teaches optimism and so does Osteen. Christianity is the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, which Osteen believes and also preaches.

    1. Christianity is not just a story. It is denying yourself, taking up your cross daily and following Jesus Christ. Our LORD said that if we love him, we will keep his commandments. The gospel of Jesus is hard. It is what he calls the straight and narrow. Christian living is about striving to enter into the gate.

Living according to the precepts of God is faith, love and hope in the life to come. For all things will pass away but the words of our LORD will not pass away. And that is why Paul tell us to set our hearts on things that are eternal (not seen), for the things that are seen are temporary.

On the other hand Joel's a feel good preacher. The love that he teaches is worldly that's why he focuses on here and now and NOT eternity.

    2. So God wants us to suffer here on earth? Is that why he sent his son Jesus to give his life for us? We shouldn't strive to reach our highest potential, we shouldn't be gainfully employed? We should just mumble in tongues all day long and point out to others what they're doing wrong, according to someone's perception of the word?

    3. God wants us to suffer here on earth? NO, but you know what mankind and woman kind sin everyday, and thus suffer HERE ON EARTH because they SIN! They outright DISOBEY the WORD OF GOD, and choose to be IGNORANT of His Commands. They don't READ HIs Word, nor do they seek Him. Everybody wants to BLAME GOD, and cease to discuss man's part in his own demise. This is the kind of thought OSTEEN stays away from. That man's problem is the SIN he chooses to commit. HE does not even uses the WORDS SIN and DISOBEDIENCE.

Is that why he sent His Son to give His life for us? Yes. He sent His to die for MAN's SINS....SIN OSTEEN...SIN. God knew the depravity of man, man could not do nothing to conquer his own sin problems, and that His SIN (Osteen) would cause him to die and spend eternity apart from Him. This He sent His SON because of His Love to Die in man's place so the sinful wicked wretched man could live. Man's heart is bent towards evil, and even in his "best, most intellectual, most charitable" start, he could NEVER measure up to the holiness of God. IT is GOD who sets the rules, not man. Problem is we like to use such words as potential (like you did here), and purpose, and esteem, and favor, when God uses words like SIN and REPENTENCE, AND PRAYER, AND OBEDIENCE, AND STUDY. It's really not that difficult. But man and woman, because of their disbelief, as ALWAYS want to make it so.

We shouldn't strive to meet our highest potential? AGAIN, bad choice of word "potential"? What exactly do you mean by "potential", especially as it pertains to Scriptures. The LORD who you said gave His life for US, tells us to believe and spread His Gospel to others, edify His saints, through the gifts the Holy Spirit has given each one of us (that is if you are truly born again). You want to believe in Him giving His life, but then add in because of your flesh to "reach our highest potential". YOU CANT DO THAT, NEITHER CAN OSTEEN. I don't care if he has a million people listening to him every Sunday.

I'm not going to address your being facetious about the "mumbling in tongues and someone's perception of the WORD". We are all called to study to show ourselves approved. I suggest you really take to this command, and not listen to Osteen's, Jakes', Bynum's, Dollar's or even YOU VERY OWN perception of the WORD. NEXT!!!

    4. A few verses to help us get the perspective of what it really means to live according to the commandments and precepts of our God (to all those who have believed on the name of Jesus Christ).

Galatians 2:20 "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."

Colossians 3:5-17 is rather lengthy but the gist for us as believers is that we are to avoid all things that bring pleasure of the flesh.

For even Paul declared that with the mind we serve the law of God but with the flesh, the law of sin. He even refers to himself as a prisoner of Christ.

Believers should work, because Paul says those who don't work should not eat. But while we work, we shouldn't aim to gain the world lest we lose our souls. Like I stated above we should set our hearts on things that are eternal and NOT things that pass away. Our faith in Christ is that there is life after death.

And again, the WORD of God is for wisdom, knowledge, understanding, life and preservation. And it encourages us that in all our getting we should get understanding. You can't do this if you want your best life now. (Read Ecclesiastes and know what vanity means).

Therefore, read the WORD of God in its entirety and DO understand before you go running after Balaam's error (the book of Jude) that Joel is.

  4. Psychologist put out this same type of material. I don't need a 100+ page book when I have the following... Phil 4:8 - Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK on these things. What else is there to think about?!

  5. Timezone...keep it up and you're going to get a beating. People are not interested in hearing the truth. They need a man to sell them a book. The Bible just ain't good enough...smh...Lord Help...for those who have a hard time understanding what I just was Extreme Sarcasm
