A Very Important Question For My Readers?????

Reader, I was recently asked an interesting question that I think is a challenging one, and I thought it would make good conversation here that possible can cause one to think. The question is will one un-repented sin make you lose your salvation if you die before you get to repent of it? I would love for all to answer with honesty, this could really help someone. I will not give my take on the question because I don't want it to be about my answer which could draw folks away from the task at hand.  But, what I will say is this, I support "Once Saved Always Save."
A young19-year-old girl has a drug habit, and prostitutes herself daily to support her habit. She grew up in the church but was never baptized  and she haven't been to church since age 13. She constantly prays and asks God for deliverance. Then one night she ends up dying from an overdose in bed with a client. Will she go to heaven?

  1. Ms. Ann great question. The Bible clearly teaches that un-repented willful sin can and will separate us from God, and if we continue to sin, we will fall from God’s grace and not make it to heaven. But, if we obey the gospel, and we are faithful to God by walking in the light as He is the light, we can be confident that all our sins will continue to be cleansed by the blood of Jesus when we confess them to the Lord. I personally believe that if we are faithful to God and we have a weak moment and sin, and then we die before we get to confess that sin that it will not keep us out of heaven. However, we will have to give an account for that sin to God. Of course, the finally decision of our fate belongs to God and not me. I am thankful for that because God’s wisdom surpasses all understanding.

  2. This is a very old old question. You would think that all those bishops like Bynum and Jakes and Osteen and Long and Dollar an all the TV preachers would have preached enough Bible to folks entering in and out of their congregation, folks would know the answer to this age old question by now...NEXT!!!

  3. Let's Let the bible speak:

John 15:6 - 6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

1 John 1:6-7 - 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

1 John 2:3 3 And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments.

1 John 2:15 - 15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

2 John 7-11 - 7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. 8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. 9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

John 8:51 - 51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.

John 12:47 - 47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

1 John 2:19 - 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

1 John 2:24 - 24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.

    1. More Scriptures -
Hebrews 10:26-31 - 26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. 28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: 29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Hebrews 10:38-39 - 38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. 39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

Hebrews 6:4-8 - 4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. 7 For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God: 8 But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

2 Peter 2:18-22 - 18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. 19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. 20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. 21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. 22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

Galatians 5:1-6 - 5 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. 2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. 3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. 4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. Revelation 2:5 - 5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

    2. Ira let me show you how that work, I believe once saved always saved, now look at all the scriptures that support my thinking. So answer me, why should I believe you opposed to who I believe? I got scriptures to support my thinking also.
      (a) Romans 8:30 declares, "And those He predestined, He also called; those He called, He also justified; those He justified, He also glorified." This verse tells us that from the moment God chooses us, it is as if we are glorified in His presence in heaven. There is nothing that can prevent a believer from one day being glorified because God has already purposed it in heaven. Once a person is justified, his salvation is guaranteed - he is as secure as if he is already glorified in heaven.

      (b) Paul asks two crucial questions in Romans 8:33-34 "Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died more than that, who was raised to life - is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us." Who will bring a charge against God's elect? No one will, because Christ is our advocate. Who will condemn us? No one will, because Christ, the One who died for us, is the one who condemns. We have both the advocate and judge as our Savior.

      (c) Believers are born again (regenerated) when they believe (John 3:3; Titus 3:5). For a Christian to lose his salvation, he would have to be un-regenerated. The Bible gives no evidence that the new birth can be taken away.

      (d) The Holy Spirit indwells all believers (John 14:17; Romans 8:9) and baptizes all believers into the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:13). For a believer to become unsaved, he would have to be "un-indwelt" and detached from the Body of Christ.

      (e) John 3:15 states that whoever believes in Jesus Christ will "have eternal life." If you believe in Christ today and have eternal life, but lose it tomorrow, then it was never "eternal" at all. Hence if you lose your salvation, the promises of eternal life in the Bible would be in error.

    3. Yeah...Finally a reply from you using Scriptures. See what a little bible study / research can do? It will make you appear to be wise, unlike when you make statements calling folks hater because they judge righteously the teachings of miles monroe or bynum. Since you seem to be one of their great supporters, any idea their stance on this issue of eterna6l security? Some call these folks kingdom preaches, but have not a clue what they believe about important biblical issues like this one,

  4. More Scriptures -

    1 Timothy 4:1 - 4 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

James 5:19-20 - 19 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; 20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

2 Peter 3:16-18 - 16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. 17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. 18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

1 Timothy 6:10 - 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

    Hebrews 2:1-2 - 2 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. 2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;

Revelation 2:10 - 10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

Revelation 3:3 - 3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

2 Peter 1:3-11 - 3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; 6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; 7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. 8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. 10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: 11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

  5. Ms. Ann ,With that being said based on all the scriptures that Ms. Ira Ayers posted. The Once Saved Always Doctrine is a Lie Birth in Hell.Ask the Lord to give you revealtion on this . If you are truly sincere he will open your eyes so you can see the truth. regarding your salvation. You do not want to be walking in any delusions right abour now.The Lord says to work out your own salvation with fear & trembling. That is a every day thing. I love you so therefore i tell you the TRUTH.You Can loose your SALVATION.

    1. Anonymous once a person is saved they are always saved. Our salvation is most definitely eternally secure, I'm die believing that to be true. When people come to know Christ as their Savior, they are brought into a relationship with God that guarantees their salvation as being eternally secure. There are numerous passages of Scripture that declare this fact. Just like Ira went and got scripture to support his belief, I can do the same. I do not believe one can lose their salvation, I believe in “eternal security”. One might lose some heavenly rewards but never salvation. When people come to know Christ as their Savior, they are brought into a lasting relationship with God that guarantees their salvation as eternally secure. There are numerous passages of Scripture that declares this fact.

This Scripture says it best for me, "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:38-39). Remember the same God who saved us is the same God who will keep us.

  6. Thanks Anon but it is Mr. Ira Ayers.

  7. Thanks Anon but it is Mr. Ira Ayers.

  8. "Once saved always saved" is the position that when a person becomes a Christian he can never lose his salvation. The debate on this teaching has been raging within Christian circles for centuries. Many believe it is possible to lose one's salvation, while others believe it is not. Both use the Bible to support their beliefs. Really it's what you want to believe.

  9. If you look at the scriptures above they clearly say you have to continue or you can fall from grace. You notice I gave you nothing but scripture. I don't have to elaborate I let the scriptures speak. He who has ears let him hear. There are so many more scriptures that directly talk about falling from grace clearly, but the "once saved" scripture need interpretation to present their case. Hebrews 10:38-39 is clear 38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. 39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

Notice a person can draw back to "perdition". Definition of perdition - the destruction which consists in the loss of eternal life, eternal misery, perdition, - Thayer's Greek Lexicon.

If a person takes scripture out of context you can make it say anything you want.

    1. Jesus says in John 15:6 - 6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

That word "abide" is to remain. So Jesus is saying If a man remains not in me,- (now watch what he says will happen) he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. (He is referencing hell) So you have to remain in Christian to be saved.

    2. This one here is quite clear - Hebrews 10:26-31 - 26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

    3. James 5:19-20 - 19 Brethren, if any of you do err (to be led aside from the path of virtue, to go astray, sin:) from the truth, and one convert (to cause to return, to bring back) him; 20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul (moral being designed for everlasting life") from death, and shall hide a multitude of sin

The parentheses are the definition of the word which is from Thayer's Greek Lexicon.

    4. Many thanks Mr. Ayers for the scriptures.

  10. Miss Ann,

The phrase once saved always saved is for weak Christians who do not want to repent of their works of flesh.

Galatians 5 talks of the flesh being contrary to the spirit and the two cannot work together. Verse 16 implores us to walk in the Spirit in order not to fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Those who are saved and still walk in the flesh should know that they are walking according to the law of sin.

Romans 7:5-25 "For when we were in flesh, the motions of sin... did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death... but now we are delivered... we should serve in the newness of spirit... For I know that in... my flesh dwelleth no good thing... So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin."

Revelation 21 has a list of those who will perish in the second death. "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone; which is the second death."

Christians should read the WORD of God lest they sin against him and perish. Psalm 119.

  11. Dear Miss Woods,

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. Galatians 6:7-8.

If you continue in your sin thinking that God has chosen you to remain sinful, you shall perish.

Repent of your fleshy ways and live.

  12. Dear Miss Ann,

You have quoted Romans 8. The very first verse says, "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ; who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."

So if you are saved and walk after the flesh and don't think you will be separated from God, you are being deceived.

It would do you well to remember that the WORD of God is for your life, preservation, knowledge, understanding, wisdom. Do read the bible in all it's entirety and NOT bits and pieces.

  13. If Christians who are living in sin think they can psyche God with the once saved always saved mess, beware: "...Behold to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatory." 1 Samuel 15:22-23

Remember the children of Israel who came from Egypt died in the desert and did not cross to the promised land. They rebelled against God and he destroyed that generation. Only Joshua, Caleb and their fellow scouts made it across the desert.

For many are called but few are chosen.
