Alfred Street Baptist Church Donates $1 million to African American Museum!

Reader, I wish that I were able to contribute to this wonderful cause.  Alfred Street Baptist Church (ASBC), one of the nation’s oldest historically African American churches located in Alexandria, Virginia is a founding donor for the Smithsonian's new National Museum of African American History and Culture, committing $1 million in donations to the museum. The senior pastor, Rev. Dr. Howard-John Wesley, tells CBS News about the church's donor base and why the members wanted to get involved in the historic project.  The $1 million donation to the museum is the largest from a faith-based organization to date, thus allowing the church to be designated as a founding donor of the museum.
