Church Announcement:The 50th Quadrennial Session of the AME General Conference.


Reader this will be the 50th Session held since the AME Church was incorporated in 1816.They will celebrate the Bicentennial incorporation of the church, representing 200 years of service to God.

The African Methodist Episcopal Church, on July 6-13 will be holding the 50th quadrennial session of its General Conference and bicentennial celebration to Philadelphia, the birthplace of African Methodism, creating a big economic boon in the process.

 The General Conference, the supreme body of the AME Church that meets every four years, will bring about 30,000 attendees to Philadelphia, including bishops, college presidents, deans, chaplains in the U.S. armed forces and more, according to the Philadelphia news.

  3. It appears the city of Philadelphia will profit more than the black folks who will attend the conference. Those hotels will hit it big over the days and maybe the black workers will get some tips, that's it. Some in the church hierarchy will have their pockets padded. Not much fruit ever comes out of these big conferences.
