Homosexuality And The Church!
Reader, as the United Methodist Church today begins its national meeting, held once every four years, the stage was set for a showdown over the church's long-standing opposition to homosexuality. According to some in the Christian community, the Christian Church is under attack from within by unrepentant and unsaved LGBT pastors and church leaders who are intent on erasing the Bible's clear teaching against homosexuality and lesbianism.
On the eve of the first decision-making General Conference, since the U.S. Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage in 2015, 111 clergies has signed and released a letter saying they identified as lesbian, gay or transgender. About 80 percent of the pastors, deacons, elders and ministry candidates who signed the letter say they are coming out publicly to their bishops and district superintendents for the first time. That puts them in direct conflict with the denomination's ban on "self-avowed practicing homosexuals" practicing ministry.
