Trump says he’s fulfilled his promises to Christians, but he really means white evangelicals

Image
Reader according to The Washington Post, it sounds like 45 will be fulfilling no more campaign promises made to white conservative evangelicals. I repeat, in "my opinion", white conservative evangelical Christians are among the very worst people this country has every produced. Given half a chance, they would re-institute slavery, stone women to death in the streets for adultery (but never the men), legalize rape, execute homosexuals en masse, cart Jews off to the gas chambers, and set the world on fire all in the name of their god. We know this because they tell us that's what they want to do. They're proud of their hate until you call them monsters. Then you're attacking their faith and they're being "persecuted."

Church Announcement: Hezekiah Walker Inducted Into The Gospel Hall Of Fame!

Reader, huge congratulations to Bishop Hezekiah Walker who has been officially inducted into the Gospel Music Association’s Hall of Fame, and his lead single “Better” hits top ten status.   Bishop Hezekiah Walker who has been recording music since 1987 was honored by Donnie McClurkin, J.J. Hairston and Richard Smallwood in a ceremony last week in Nashville, TN. You can catch the Gospel Music Association’s Hall of Fame ceremony when it airs June 5th on JUCE TV!

Comments

  1. First off...in order to be in anybody’s "Hall of Fame”, at least according to the world’s standard, you RECORDS must be outstanding, more than above average.

BTW to make a point about this “Hall of FAME” claim, this idea is totally carnel, not even comparable to the simple verse Matt. 18:3 “And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.” This when the disciples asked who would be the greatest in the kingdom.

When we look at Hezekiah’s RECORDS (at least the lyrics), ironically you find his words to be very childlike, yet he receives a man’s reward. This is almost laughable.

Take for instance his song "Ain't Nobody Like Jesus":

    Ain't nobody like Jesus
    Nobody like Him
    [repeat]

    Can't nobody,
    Can't nobody No, no, no-body
Can't nobody do me like Jesus

Picks me up when I'm down
He's the best friend that I've found
    Nobody like Him

Makes me feel like giving Him praise
    Jesus washed my sins away
    Nobody like Him
Can't nobody do me like Jesus
Can't nobody do me like the Lord
    Can't nobody, Can't nobody No, no, no-body
Can't nobody do me like Jesus

These are words written by a “prolific” song writer. Can you really believe this guys RECORD is “Hall of Fame” worthy.

Or wait a minute, his song entitled “Wonderful Is Your Name"

    All of my life I've
    Never known You to fail
    You remain the same and
    Wonderful is Your name
You woke me up this morning,
    Started me on my way
    Put food on my table,
    Brought joy to my day
I'm glad Your love has never changed
    And wonderful, and wonderful
And wonderful, wonderful is Your name

It is said that the LORD has infinite amount of name, We only now only a few from Scriptures. Thanks Hezekiah, the great songwriter you are.

    And the song "He Can"
    [Chorus:]
    Here I go again
    Here I go again
Crazy to believe that God can
    Here I go again
    Here I go again
Crazy to believe that God can

    [Verse:]
    I've been through the fire
    And through the storm
    I've been through the cold
    You kept me warm
    Never have found myself alone
    Never, never, never

    [Vamp:]
    He can, yes He can
    He will, yes He will
    He can, yes He can

Can you imagine someone writing and producing this?
Like my grandkids say “Bubble gum, Bubble gum in a dish, how many pieces do you wish”.

I mean, take for example a simple hymn familiar to many of us “Amazing GRACE”, the lyrics so full of timely truths:
Amazing grace, How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost, but now I am found,
Was blind, but now I see.

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
    And grace my fears relieved.
How precious did that grace appear
    The hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares
    I have already come,
'Tis grace has brought me safe thus far
And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me
    His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be,
    As long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
    And mortal life shall cease
I shall possess within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

When we've been there ten thousand years
    Bright shining as the sun,
We've no less days to sing God's praise
    Than when we've first begun.

Hez Walker is not “Hall of Fame” worthy. He has produced no records that are outstanding.

    1. Bishop Walker didn't write the songs that you listed. But he & his choir did record them and made them very popular. However, this award is for his years of consistent service, worldwide respect, and the impact he had on the gospel music industry, which is enormous.

    2. Anonymous I totally disagree, I think Bishop Hezekiah Walker is well deserving of this honor.

    3. Since you want to be pointless to correct me saying Hez Walker didn’t write the songs mentioned, you pick a song he did write, and I’ll bet to note his written lyrics are not different from the lyrics of the songs I mentioned. Little Bitty Baby songs, that I may even do insult to the babies.

And about Hez’s consistent service…consistent service doing what? And his “WORLDWIDE” respect. REALLY? He doesn’t even have respect for many in the church. A Bishop who is divorced, among allegations he is gay, and you say WORLDWIDE WHAT?

And his impact on “gospel music”? I tell you what, there is gospel music (and all its craziness which Hez is a part of”), and there is music about the gospel, music like Amazing Grace, telling the depravity of all man, and their need for God’s precious grace to save man and give man with God.

Ms Ann, you have the right and the privilege to AGREE or DISAGREE. Hez Walker perpetuates a style of music that is carnal, shallow, and unbiblical. As long as he’s attached to this type “ministry”, his other “ministries” will bear no real fruit.

    4. Many people disagree with your opinion. Even the late Bishop William L Bonner (holiness or hell) recognized and respected Bishop Walker as a major impactful contributor to kingdom building. So me arguing with some bitter anonymous person on the internet over facts that are widely recognized, hence the Hez's induction into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, is pointless.

    5. You are pointless when you say many people disagree with my opinion. In case you don't seem to realize....THIS IS A BLOG...no need to state the obvious. Many express their opinion, and according to Ann, that's their privilege.

If you don't want to argue with some bitter (no need for the shade) anonymous person (which by the way, YOU identify as LOL...) is INSANE. So what if Bishop Walker recognizes or respect Hez? That says a lot about Bishop Walker, in my opinion. Bishop Walker has HIS OPINION, YOU have yours and I HAVE mine. Cut it out Anonymous!

  2. Right on Anonymous! You see, this is ONE of the problems.. Ann Brock, How can someone speak in favor of a so-called minister/prophet, ect, who knowingly display's ungodly characteristics. No wonder the unbelievers are laughing at the church...BUT God doesn't think it's funny. We (church) need to repent. In Christ Alone, RLR

    3. Thanks...like the song says, they have eyes, but they can not see, they have ears but they can not hear (hey, I just had an idea...maybe Hez can make a remix of that old Negro Spiritual...I mean the lyrics to the song is biblical you know). And for the anonymous who called you "self-righteous", I'd bet he / she would be one who would point out quickly "Don't Judge". So hypocritical. I say, continue to judge the likes of Hez. God bless your discernment. Hez may be a "gospel music giant" ". He most certainly is not a "GOSPEL" giant as some claim. A black gospel music giant he is. And he should be awarded for such. That award is so tainted it ain't even funny. There is a job well done from man. And there is a "well done thy good and faithful servant" from the Almighty. IJS...

    4. Once again in my opinion, Bishop Hezekiah Walker is well deserving of this honor. Anonymous you'd be hard put to find a African American church that didn't at one time have at least one Hezekiah Walker song in their Sunday morning services. Songs like "The Lord Will Make A Way Somehow", "Oh Lord We Praise You", "Power Belongs To God" and the Grammy-nominated "Lift Him Up" connecting with congregations big and small. As well as being a outstanding gospel music star Hezekiah Walker also pastor not one but two churches. Yep! He deserve to be honor.

    5. Ann...I heard you the first second and now the third time. I must say your third repeat was full of fire. You must have replied that right after listening to Jackie Carr. Amazing how these faux gospel artists can cast a spell of boldness upon us. Take a deep breath and settle down Ann...

    7. Ms. Ann or somebody, please help me. I just looked up the lyrics of Hez grammy nominated song "Lift Him Up" and it goes:

      "Lift Him Up"

He is worthy, he is worthy
He is worthy, worthy to be praised
From the rising of the sun
To the going down of the same
      God is worthy
      [Repeat]

      Come on praise him
      Come on praise him
      Come on praise him
      Come on praise him
      Come on praise him
      Come on praise him
      Come on praise him

      Give God all the praise
      Give God all the praise

      Lift him up
      Higher, higher
      Lift him up
      Higher, higher
      [Repeat]

By the looks at the lyrics, it makes me wonder if this is REALLY a song. Did someone really put some musical composition to these lyrics? Anyone have any idea why a song like this would be nominated for anything, yet a Grammy? Are the folks on the Grammy Board, the same as those on the Gospel Music Association Board?

  3. And another thing Ms. Ann, I don't have to travel far to a church where there is no Hez. My church only 5 minutes away, is Hez free. If or when they decide to do hez, that's my cue of a sign it's time for me to roll up outo there.

    2. For all those who disagree with Bishop Hezekiah Walker being acknowledge for his contribution to Gospel music can you please tell me why?

    3. Ms. Ann, Ms. Ann, Ms. Ann…

Let me explain, I am in my 60’s. No youngster here. I know it doesn’t seem like it. I just TRY to be SPRY. Dig it!

Let me just quote a of bible verse, that many seem to just don’t get, about what’s “traditional”. I’m going to quote Jesus’ words. But before I do so, let me say, as you already know, there are churches that holds two type services – one “traditional”, one “contemporary”. Music in the traditional services is usually hymns from the hymnbook. You see HYMNS are considered appropriate for TRADITIONAL worship. For “contemporary” services, we have “contemporary” songs, songs more current like those sung by Hez and his group, whatever their name. So to classify Hez songs as “traditional” is, what shall I say, SIMPLY NOT TRUE!. These folks of the contemporary style are moving away from what was considered “TRADITIONAL” (as far as music goes), to create their own “tradition” (a comtemporary and worldly sound to appease the masses).

Now here’s what Jesus says to the Pharisee about “changing” God’s commandments to usher in their own tradition, pay attention, I don’t want to lose you, -

Matthew 15 1Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying, 2Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. 3But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?

Note… GOD had His “traditional” commandments, but these men created their own “TRADITION”.

      Let’s go on…

4For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death. 5But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; 6And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. 7Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,

SEE WHAT these Pharisees did. You really need to study to find out the meaning when they say “it is a gift”. Take a break Jackie Carr for a minute..

Then he goes on to say…

8This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. 9But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
NOTICE he said “Doctrine of men”…traditions made up by man…
Another thing be careful citing John’s epistle how he prayed Gaius be prosperous even as his soul prosper, too. Many have that one wrong as well.

Lastly you asked for those who disagree with Hez being nominated. I thought I gave my reasons why. But not to rehash, Hez is not hall of fame material. In baseball vernacular, Hez has not produced Hall of Fame records – simple and trite little songs. Hez goes by the name Bishop, and is not qualified, divorce, and allegedly is homo thus not blameless. Baseball didn’t allow Pete Rose into their Hall, because he gambled on the precious sport. I also implied for Hez to be nominated by a group of dunce individuals – the Gospel Music Association is laughable. I find nothing “gospel” about that association. There is a lot of taint in that award given to HEZ by GMA.

Like I said “there is a well done from man, and there is a well done thy good and faithful servant FROM GOD….

    5. Hi everyone. This post sat here for awhile and it just blew up, lol! Ok, I definitely hear where you coming from somewhat Anonymous. I'm not even going to chime in or whether or not Hezekiah even deserves this aware or not. This whole earthly award is due to him just for name sake. The last time I was involved with this MESS, whether it was the Gospel Heritage Awards, GMA, or Stellar Awards, dudes was walking in with purses and slight high heels! This is the FOOLISHNESS that goes on and don't nobody say anything. The Gospel Music Industry, should not be an industry to celebrate ourselves. Just my humble opinion. Yes, ofcourse we'll have those singers and artist we see and say, "Man them folks show can sang or they show can play." But we've lost the Reverance and respect we have towards our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Backstage is a JOKE! Dudes looking at females up and down and the females dressing to get looks on PURPOSE! It's ridiculous. It's become a fashion show to fulfill the lust of the flesh as the Word says. So whether we like the SOUND of contemporary or the SOUND of the traditional gospel is up to that person. I will say this, I can't stand the rock stuff that goes on in some of our caucasian brother and sisters churches. Trust me, not to sound racial or anything, but ya'll know exactly what I'm talking about. Ya know, some of the Jesus Culture, Hillsong stuff. Some of it is cool and some of it will remind you of demonic groups like AC/DC. Lol. I'm serious. Because if you goto the Word in 1 Samuel 16:16, David played the HARP which sooth the spirit of King Saul. The very sound of the harp is beautiful and peaceful. Can you imagine if David came in there with a guitar and a amp and cranked up the distortion and put the volume on 10? Saul probably would've thrown an spear at him!! LOL!! Ok, my point is, the sound can bring into your mind and spirit of certain styles and genres of music, but within this suppose to be gospel music of today, it has been tainted with worldly desires to sound and mimic the world, whether it be Drake or Taylor Swift. It's a mess ya'll. However pray that there be a TRUE revival of repentance.

So it's OK to exalt these phony people that hide behind the gospel but (to the anonymous person) you call a person self-righteous...what a sad thing. All I can do is pray that God will get you CONVERTED because it sounds as if you would see nothing wrong with IF (GOD FORBID) I would go sleeping around on my wife of 34 years...(Btw, she is a white German woman..if that means anything). My 3 beautiful kids and my church family would be devastated.... in regards to living and having testified about God as well as about how God will keep you. Would you find fault in me? I guess you would be one of those that would say HE HAD A WEAK MOMENT SO LET'S JUST TELL HIM THE ANNOINTING IS STILL UPON HIM, CHURCH. But Jesus said..You will know them by their "Godly Fruit". Don't worry though, you will have to give an account to God, not me...just as I will have to give an account. That is why I submit myself to God as we are commanded to do. In Christ Alone, RLR

  7. Thank you for your kind words of encouragement. I submit myself to God, my family, and my church family (even though there is temptation everywhere). I would think that's what we are CALLED to do. Blessings to you! In Christ Alone, RLR
