More Americans Say That You Can Be Good Without God?

Reader for the first time, a majority of Americans — 56 percent — say it is possible to be a good person without a religious belief. So says new Pew Research Center data drawn from two polls conducted among about 5,000 American adults in June and July. “God is not a prerequisite for good values and morality,” Greg Smith, Pew’s associate director of research, said in a post about the findings. ” … [T]he public’s increased rejection of the idea that belief in God is necessary for morality is due, in large part, to the spike in the share of Americans who are religious ‘nones.

Bishop Carlton Pearson's Eulogy Of Prince!

Reader Bishop Carlton Pearson Facebook post about Prince is very well stated. I agree and totally respect the way in which Bishop Pearson shared his interpretation. There are not many people who can touch so many people in a positive way and not have even met the Majority of them.  Beings such as that among us should be recognized for their contributions to humanity.

  1. Are you kidding me? You got an antichrist who no longer believes in the infallible Word of God in which this dude believes there are errors, is gonna roll up and do this eulogy? Well, I guess this is the best they could come up with and I guess you can say this would be appropriate, huh? I remember in 1994 when he visited the church I once went to in ATL. I backed this joker up on keys when he sang this Pentecostal like traditional song. Back then, I couldn't put my finger on it, but I could feel something wasn't right about him and how he would flip scriptures and turn them around and make you believe or think opposite of what the scriptures were saying. Unreal...

    1. I agreed with Carlton Prince was a genius musician.

    2. Timezone I think Bishop Carlton Pearson did a wonderful job in his post honoring his other-ness. In my opinion he just described who Prince appeared to be and that he never really belonged to this world......That he was on loan to us only! He was put on earth to share his gift and to be enjoyed as a gift.

    3. Dearest Saints, I have a question to ask: wouldn’t it seem odd if Jews mourned the death of Hitler lauding his economic policies that brought prosperity to Germany (He did do that). Wouldn't they be overlooking something? In a similar fashion I’m in absolute astonishment as to how the Saints (not referring to Carlton Pearson) are praising Prince. I’m not upset at anyone. I’m not saying he wasn’t talented. I’m not saying he wasn’t saved, he could have repented on his death bed. BUT I once was lost…and when I was I remember his music being a non stop soundtrack glorifying immorality of every sort. I remember his androgynous/effeminate persona. I’m just curious as to how a man with a lifetime of music and videos that glorify things that our savior died for can be remembered with such fondness.

In Matthew 7:21 we read of those who are able to prophesy, cast out demons, and perform signs and wonders IN THE NAME OF JESUS, yet Jesus calls them workers of iniquity. I hope we wouldn’t speak positively in any way of these false prophets despite their ability to do the miraculous, Jesus sure didn’t. So how is it that we speak positively of those who’s life’s work leads people into sin? How do we speak positively of someone who in every respect was opposed to our Lord? Can you really separate the man from the sum total of his work?

If you want to speak positively about someone from that era and sphere why not speak about Denise Matthews aka Vanity. No, don’t speak about what she did but what she became. She became a follower of Christ and renounced everything from that period of her life. Now that’s something for Christians to look upon with fondness. Our sister in the Lord went to be with Christ earlier this year. But then again..”maybe I’m just too demanding.” Blessings to you all. I not looking to create a firestorm it’s just disturbing that discernment seems to be a thing of the past. God have mercy upon us

    4. His death like every death reminds us that we need to number our days because they will be over before we know it (Psalm 90:10, 12). And I don't think anyone on here is praising Prince as in a idol or god.....I think everyone is acknowledging and recognizing that he Prince was a musical genius and nothing else.

  2. Ann, I have to agree with Carlton D. Pearson... Prince was very MYSTERIOUS!!!

  3. I think this is just a wonderfully written tribute to a wonderful talent!

  4. Everything doesn't have to be so spooky and deep. Prince was a musical genious, who was loved and adored for those gifts. On April 21, all matters concerning any others aspect of his life that the deep saints feel the need to villify while his family mourns will be handled by God. No need to get on a holy high horse...God will take it from here.

    1. I had to play at a church last night. And yes, they recognized Prince. I agree that Prince was amazing and the words that Carlton said, some of what he said kinda made sense. No, not trying to be deep as what was said above, however I was just recognizing who this was coming from. Not going to say who it was from, but it was prophesied that Carlton was going to make a major comeback and noooo one will think about what he believes. Every faith will be in Heaven. There's no hell. And this is the kicker... Jesus will redeem satan after the Great White Throne judgement. I just saying, believe me I'm not upset, just conversatin' and looking at the time period of where we are in this world and how we're moving closer more than ever before to a one-world order system. Alot of folks, YES they are worshiping Prince. I'll say it. I saw a sister that I know that goes to the church I used to goto, she was on Facebook, in her car blastin the song, "Kiss" and singing along with it on video. Sorry, but I personally have to ask myself is this Christ like? It is true, we all enter and leave this world, no matter what the scientist and gnostics say and we'll look at that person who died and look at the positives. I'm just saying we as living here within the last days, have to know how to put what's spiritual and material in perspective the proper way. 2. You're over thinking it.
