Lord Have Mercy: Televangelism is coming to Netflix!

Reader, this is interesting... not sure how I feel (particularly about the specific lineup), but interesting nonetheless.  It looks like in the near future you may start noticing a new trend on Netflix. This December, sermon series from four prominent pastors—Joyce Meyers, Steven Furtick, Andy Stanley and Ed Young—were all added to the streaming content platform as part of a new effort led by Young to get Christian teachings on Netflix.

In an interview with RNS, the executive director of marketing for Joyce Meyers said that Netflix asked that the pastors avoid promoting products and soliciting donations, but was relatively open when it came to the content of the sermons. Young told RNS, “Jesus said that we should become fishers of men. If I’m going to catch the most fish, I’ve got to put a lot of hooks in the water. But I’m most excited about Netflix right now.”

  1. Could put a damper on your Netflix and Chill game. Lol

  2. Judging from the line up, my first question would be, "What's in it for them?"

More advertising to people willing to give them money.

  3. Yeah Joyce Myers was already on there
