Who Disagree With Gospel Artists Sharing A Stage With "Secular" Artists?

Reader, it's a sad day when  BET doesn't even have enough confidence in today's Gospel artists alone to be the only artists performing on their own show of celebration. Nope, instead they have to rely on secular artists in order to draw an audience.

How many Gospel artists have we seen in the last couple of years, performing at the Grammy's, AMA's or at the Billboard Music Awards? But these networks keep involving secular artists in these types of shows.....which in my opinion should only allow for the Gospel artists to stand out and to be respected all over the world and not just to a certain demographic.  The show tonight is a little too secular for my taste, from the host all the way down.

  1. It never works. Nobody gets saved or delivered. It's a entertainment spectacle. Being a keyboardist, I've had it with the showboating and people in the church being "starstruck." It's unreal. People leave these events still laden in their sins but it was just a big show to be put before the people to try and match the world. And the things I know about personally of what goes on behind closed doors.... Lord help us.

  5. Exactly why I refused to watch last night. I stopped watching the "Celebration of Gospel" years ago. It is too much of a show and too secular. Tank and Yolanda Adams singing together???? I'm surprised he didn't take his shirt off like in his concerts. SMH

    1. Why didn't you watch, if I may ask? I mean...it's good entertainment...and if you want to scope some good talent...they got that...

    3. Gotcha...Though I think the whole television industry is set up so to appeal to certain audiences to satisfy an agenda. They know Black folks will watch BET put out this junk. All to get a rise from a superficial form of religion that'll keep them oppressed in ignorance about the true God of the Bible, and His real intent for living.

  7. This kind of gathering is sure to take place when you have "Christian" musicians doing music like the world. When the mixing occur, the artist true heart and intent is revealed. They hate the hymns calling it out of date and dull and would rather showcase their talent with a musical style that pumps up the flesh. They will do whatever to bring "sexy" back and are willing to get a few bucks in doing so. I have never heard of any testimony of one (especially the likes of 2Chain or Kanye) coming to the saving knowledge of Jesus because of these foolish individuals who are misguided to the truth about music and spiritual songs. I hear people talk all the time about how they were moved emotionally, but never a real confession of Jesus dying on the Cross for their sins, taking their place when they should have been nailed to the Cross because death was what they deserved.

  8. I think a lot of people are confused. This is NOT a gospel show. This is a CELEBRATION of gospel by the mainstream world. The show INVITES gospel artists to sing with R&B stars who also have an appreciation for gospel music. That is why the host will ALWAYS be a secular host because it is a mainstream show appreciating another genre. If anyone feels the gospel artists should not accept the invitation to perform, let them know. This is not their platform so they have a choice on whether to participate or not. Some may see it as a way to reach the lost and dying world, other may see it as another way to expose their music. Either way they are stepping onto a mainstream stage after accepting the invitation.

    1. Gentle Breeze I really like your comment. I never thought to look at it as not being a gospel show.

  9. Would you deny a sinner walking through your church doors to fellowship with saved Christians at church?
