The Beauty Of The Old Holiness Church Of God In Christ!

Reader, once upon a time the old COGIC had a beauty about it that's missing today. I really enjoyed the below video very much. It's my prayer that many other COGIC leaders would watch this video with understanding. This young lady video is another testament to why living holy as instructed by the word of God is our only witness.

I feel as though the church doors should be open to anyone regardless of your sin, however when you come in and you have a pastor that preaches the word straight from the Bible and it doesn't approves, your lifestyle don't get offended, sit down.  If it mashes your toes then back your foot up and say ouch and move on. If you choose not to attend that service anymore then that's okay. A pastor can't cater his sermon around your feelings he will be held accountable for not teaching what is right.

  1. I agree with her and I too believe this is what Dr. Earl Carter has been trying to say the whole time. It's about holiness.

  2. Sister, this is good. But here's what happened: Jude 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

    1. Alan what are you talking about? As usual you are not making sense. Who is turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness??

  3. I was wondering if the COGIC prohibition of women wearing pants and watching movies originated in the Bible Belt region of the US.

  4. Holy Roller, this scripture points at the direction of where satan is sending men from behind closed doors if you will, and allowing false doctrine and foolishness to be infiltrated into the church. It's where they'll take God's Grace and twist it, manipulate the Word and have this spirit of where anything goes as to what Dr. Carter and the sister here is talking about. This scripture culminates with the lack of moral discipline. Whether it be Baptist, COGIC, Methodist or whatever denomination. The church is changing for the worse, lukewarm and not being Holy as the sister was saying in her commentary and I totally agree with her.

  5. This makes no sense. Notice how she kept saying " teachings of the church" and not "following Christ". So instead of staying in church when you fall short, you just give yourself over to the world??!? Humans can be so gullible. The funny thing is that if you sit everyone down because they sin, you wouldn't even have a pastor preaching. I do agree with sitting people down who refuse to repent and change before God. We have a responsibility to draw others to Christ. Not turn them away. I would love to see a video with Christians speaking about loving someone out of sun instead of damning them further into it. Who is she to tell people because they fell short they should leave the church. That is anti- love which is also anti -Christ like. Humans!!

    1. It is the "teachings of the church" that keeps that church structure in place. If it were really about "following Christ" there would be little need for organizations and leaders and doctrine and protocol and distractions and messy situations and profiteering from churchianity and all the other stuff. There is no requirement that people stay in the church. If they choose to leave because they do not want to follow the "teachings of the church" then that is what they should do.
Also, I'm don't get what is anti-love about what she said.

    2. COGIC is no longer holy anymore. People like Blake is the reason I so many others have left the Church. COGIC is a Politically Correct Church. Holiness is not their doctrine anymore. It's sad.

  6. We are to follow Christ. Not organizations. It's evident in her conversion to Judaism that she was let down by COGIC, not Jesus. Every bit of the sentiment she expressed is true, however, the teachings of Jesus should be the foundation. Never fallible men. Jesus is the rock. Follow Him and you won't be disappointed.

    1. Unless you have grown up and been a part of this particular church culture....then you really don't have a clue as to what she is talking about.

    2. My grandparent's were founding members with Bishop Mason. I am third generation COGIC to the roots. Why would you make this dumb comment?

    3. Furthermore, all that I said is found in the Bible... Y'all kill me always being experts and making assumptions.

  7. What a "Manifesto", or should I say a bunch of "Rambling". What this video fail to display is whatever organization one is a part of, it's made up of people (human beings) which mean there are imperfections. There have always been and will always be imperfections in the church, there will always be those that fall short, why? because there is none perfect but one, and his name is Jesus Christ. Organizations that puts themselves on a pedestal sets themself up for a great fall. Now did she really say if you want to live in holiness come over to the Church of God in Christ, but if you want to do whatever you want to do, go over to the Baptist church, I beg the differ. I believe whether you are in the Baptist, Methodist, COGIC, etc, there are people living in holiness, don't forget, God had to remind Elijah that he had 7000 who had not bowed to Baal. I believe the Church of God in Christ has realized that keeping a yoke (rules/doctrines) on the people's neck does not make them live holy, but rather by presenting the gospel, and the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ. And lastly, to touch a little on her statement about grace. Grace doesn't give anyone a license to sin, but rather it presents God's love in such a manner that one does not want to sin, but when we do (and we will), Grace has already forgiven us. Now if this woman needs the rules (yoke on her neck) to live holy, then so be it, but as for me, I chose to live holy because of God's love for me and my love for him....
