Breaking News: COGIC Bishop Samuel Penn Nesbitt, Sr Has Transition From Time Unto Eternity.
Readers, it is with great sorrow today that I inform you of the November 7, 2015, transition of a Chief Justice and General in God's army. The Bishop Samuel Penn Nesbitt, Sr of Jacksonville, Florida has been promoted to glory to receive his reward. He was 92 years of age and still serving. Bishop Nesbit was an Auxiliary Bishop and served the National Church primarily from a legal standpoint. He was a Chief Justice in his own right and lead the way in defending the constitution of the COGIC. He lead the legal fight in most of the major issues that face the church leading back to the darkest hours of the church in the late 1960s. His most recent argument was that the Presiding Bishop Charles E. Blake counted himself as the Seventh in historic session to lead the COGIC. Bishop Nesbitt believe that this was improperly stated and found it not to agree with the language of the constitution of the Church of God In Christ. Bishop Nesbitt was the proud pastor of the "Church of God In Christ Temple" for many years and was married to the lovely Lady Delores Nesbitt. The Bishop Samuel Penn Nesbitt was the minister of the Lord Jesus Christ by the will of God unto the CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST. We doff our hat to you Bishop Nesbitt and we declare job well done.
