Do You Have To Look A Certain Way To Be Saved?

Reader, if God called us to himself and never asked us to change what would be the point? At some point in our lives we need to ask ourselves, do I look different in action, in love, in grace, in speech and even in how I present myself in the clothing I choose to wear than the old me.

Some say church folks are always the first one to pass judgement on others.  The statement “You don’t have to look a certain way to be saved” by Alexis Spight, sparked a lively debate after her interview on the Yolanda Adam morning show aired.

See some of the comments in this Instagram post…So the question is do you have to look a certain way to be SAVED?

  1. Of course you don't have to look a certain way to claim that you are saved. Foolish!

  2. You will know Christians by their fruits, not by their dress.

    1. We as Christians should look, act and be like Jesus. In the way we live and dress.

  3. God looks at the heart. This is an old-fashioned sin amongst Christians - judging others based on how they look. Just like interracial couples have been ostracized in the past and scripture was twisted to justify it. Love God. Love people. Help where you can and pray the rest of the time. Let God be God and open your heart to serve.

  4. A saved person is a new creature in Christ all things of old past away. If you are a Christian who loves the Lord, it will show in the way that you walk, talk, think and dress. Those who love the world will look like the world.

  6. I AGREE

I have seen some well dressed and put together people in Brooks brothers suits, and well groomed that hate the mere mention of Christ.

I go to church with a white man that wears waist long dread locks, only wears T shirts (even in the winter) and I have NEVER seen him wear a clean pair of jeans.
But he has probably personally witnessed to more people than the pastor.

Yes, as a Christian there should be a certain level of modesty as it pertains to your culture (in parts of the world it's completely acceptable for women to have their breast out and men to walk around in Tarzan short shorts)

So I agree you don't have to LOOK A CERTAIN way to be a Christian.

There is no Christian style of dress that makes you LOOK more like a Christian.

But there is a walk and an attitude that allows others to see The love of Christ in you.
