    1. Lady L, kissing sacred things has a long long history in Catholicism.

    2. A lot of the foolishness that we see in the Protestant Church stems from Catholicism where Satan is the god they truly worship by following Mary above Christ and practicing perverted coverings to mock the true God.

    3. Before you judge study to show thyself approved so you won't sound as foolish as you do. Kissing the ring HAD purpose and if it is done with the appropriate meaning it should be fine. If you don't know learn to be quiet about the things of the Lord or you will find yourself speaking against the word of the Lord in your ignorance.

    6. I'm a pastor and will become a Bishop within the next year. I don't want anyone kissing my hand. Foolishness is corrupting the latter day church. Book, chapter, verse.

  3. This is Roman Catholicism, the robes, chains, rituals, symbols etc. I come from a protestant church (not in America) and although my church is far from perfect I've never seen these things. The bishop is our brother and nobody bows for him, he' s a man just like the rest of the men.

  4. Church rituals getting out of hand. I don't want a title. I rather stick to my relationship with Christ. This is too much.

    1. Never agreed with the pope kissing ring thing and later learned why its not correct to do. The bible says. You must worship God in spirit and in truth. You must not make any graven image to worship or bow down before it. You want to kiss a mans hand just don't think you are doing it for worship to the true God.

  8. As a bishop myself, like me correct a few things that are errors that has been mention on this post by those who have commented.

    1. The above is Anglican not ROMAN Catholic.

    2. Saints in Scripture greeted each other with a HOLY KISS.

    3. The kissing of the ring has to do with imperial customs being brought into the church and not paganism.

    4. Kissing a ring is not worship, it is respect. Just like when you enter a court you say Your Honor.

    5. Lastly some of you worship your pastor and bishops more than you worship God. if you stop your service for a bishop and pastor to walk in you are worshiping him.

  9. Anglican is an offshoot of Catholicism, Protestantism from the protests against non-biblical religious practices of both of these churches. We are now in a season that pursues the pomp and pageantry that serve as entertaining distractions from the one worthy of our praise; King, Prophet and High Priest, Jesus.

  10. Show me in the Bible where it says that. Man made rules do not count!! smh

  11. The big mistake people make nowadays is that they forget that people can read the Bible for themselves and that a lot of what is going on behind the scenes in the church is being exposed. The holy kiss in the Bible was an expression of brotherly love and unity. This is NOT the holy kiss of the Bible. Nowhere in the Bible do I read that Jesus was wearing a ring and that the disciples had to kiss it. But we do read about the Lord Jesus washing the feet of His disciples showing His servants heart and humility.
