Jesus Take The Wheel: Atlanta Pastor Who Encourages African-Americans To Arm Themselves Against The Police Have Been Suspended?
Lord have mercy, my dad and uncles, God bless their resting souls loved to fish and hunt. Born and reared in Alabama they would not have been caught without their guns. They had hunting rifles and all sorts of guns till the day they died. They didn't know much about the second amendment, but they did believe in the right to bear arms.
Anyhow, since its inception, the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, founded by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and others, has proclaimed nonviolence. Now, in the wake of several high-profile deaths of unarmed black men at the hands of the police, Georgia's current SCLC leadership is calling for a new approach. Georgia SCLC president Rev. Samuel Mosteller stopped just short of telling black Americans to arm themselves. But the reverend did call upon them to defend themselves through the 2nd Amendment, or the right to bear arms. Since making the statement, he has been suspended.
