Church Announcement: Soul Singer Percy Sledge Transition From Time Unto Eternity!

A legend passes, prayers for Mr. Sledge's Family and Friends.  This man was one of my mother's favorite singers. His music became a part of the fabric of our daily lives back in the day.   It is impossible to think of it, and him, otherwise. Case in point: everyone who had this song played in their homes growing up raise your hands.

Any how, Percy Sledge, the soul singer who took "When a Man Loves a Woman" to the top of the charts in 1966, died this morning at his Baton Rouge home. He was 73. According to East Baton Rouge Parish coroner Dr. William "Beau" Clark, Sledge died of natural causes while under hospice care.
