Lord Have Mercy, Is Kirk Franklin Right?

According to uGospel.com, Kirk Franklin, one of the most successful and influential artists in the Gospel Music Industry, recently penned a blog, which raised a good point. According to Kirk, Gospel Music doesn’t affect people the way it used to. In a time of technology, where many are focused on popularity and monetary earnings, you have to wonder.

  1. It's interesting Kirk Franklin says this AFTER he has made a ton of money from his hit records.

    1. Hehe, Mike you are so right. Look how long it took for him to acknowledge that Gospel music is basically essentially and fundamentally dead and that it no longer have meaning.

  2. Actually, it was his success that made the gospel music industry's "money chase" even worse. Seems like every group out wants to achieve the same level of achievement that he has...and they're willing to anything to get it. Today's gospel music is hallow with no soul, spiritual nourishment, or real sincerity. I almost hate going to church on youth Sunday because that mess has slowly seeped its way into the church & turned it into one LOUD circus.

  3. Just me, but a Gospel song void of the Word of God, which is the Gospel, is at best an inspirational song. And the fact is a lot of these jackleg preacher/musicians are inspiring a whole lot that contrary to the Word.

  4. What makes a person think they can sample a worldly song and since they're singing it in a church that's going to please God?
