“The Boy Who Came Back From Heaven” Recants Story, Rebukes Christian Retailers!

Pulpit And Pen:

Lord have mercy, the co-author of The Boy Who Came Back From Heaven – the boy himself Alex Malarkey has now recanted everything that was printed in the book as false. He has written an open letter to Lifeway and admonished them for not holding to the sufficiency of Scripture. For those who may not be familiar with The Boy Who Came Back From Heaven, the publisher’s description is here as well as the rest of the article:

There is simply no reason to believe anyone who claims to have gone to heaven and returned. John 3:13 JESUS says, “No one has ascended into heaven except HE who descended from Heaven, the Son of Man.” And John 1:18 says, “No one has seen God at any time.”

  1. These books, and the way they "inspire faith", are a black mark on the Christian publishing industry.

    1. This is a disturbing trend. It's unbelievable, to me, that historically reputable Christian publishing houses are publishing these books. Shallow, sensational, Biblically errant books are increasingly replacing those with depth and Biblical accuracy.

    2. Well, good for him. Maybe the rest of these people spinning lies to sell books will take notice, get convicted and repent as well. Repentance is good for the soul and money does not buy peace with God. Does not the scripture say obediance is better than sacrifice?

    3. Bessie you will be surprised at the number of Christians who believe this foolishness.

  2. Lazarus was dead for over 3 days before Jesus raised him, and yet we have nary a peep out of him about heaven. If God had wanted us to know these things, Lazarus would have been the one to tell us.

Good for him for stepping up and confessing the Truth! Now we need that bull malarkey unbiblical book & movie " Heaven is for Real" to be recanted as it is theologically unstable and not based on sound Biblical doctrine!!

  4. I find nothing wrong with Christian Fiction because thats exactly where this book belongs. Its sad people question the bnle but believe 100% of what this boy wrote and now that he recants, word is people still keep buying the books in drove. What does that say about people? They choose to stay shallow in their Christian walk....so sad.
