A Shelter Require Homeless Women To Attend Megachurch And Tithe!!

Image
Reader this is a doggone shame, a homeless woman says a shelter required her to attend Church of the Highlands, even though a church where she was a member was about a block away.
A women's shelter in Birmingham requires all residents to board a
van and attended worship services at the Woodlawn branch of the Church of the Highlands each Sunday. They're not given the option to attend any other church. They're also required to tithe every week, despite being homeless.

Question: Did JESUS Have It Easy?

I love this Facebook quote and comment:

"Jesus had it easy. Because he didn’t have to run a ministry or manage a congregation, he was free to engage people exactly as he found them. He didn’t have to make them do anything for him; thus, he was free to love them and they were free to respond to that love or reject it. He didn’t need their tithes to pay his salary, their attendance to validate his ego, or their time to [run] his programs."
Agree or disagree?

"Jesus didn't have a FB page, Twitter, a blog, a LinkedIn profile, a church or a para - church organization, a marketing plan, a platform, or any other strategy "we" have as a body today? He sat at water wells, dinner tables, in boats, and in the countryside, and with the power of God in Him, the same power available to us, He radically brought the Kingdom come. I love Him and follow Him for *these very reasons!" Do you agree?

  2. Agree! When I closed a fellowship (church) but still functioned as a pastor without all the rigmarole....the yoke became truly easy and the burden light as feather!

    1. There isn't one person that would do what he done. We the ones got it easy so i disagree. We today we'll die for our children would we? He did it for the world that's not easy. He even asked the father to let the cup pass over him. So he battled with it

  3. Time for Good Cop/ Bad Cop

    GOOD COP agrees
Jesus didn't have to deal with the BUSINESS OF CHURCH. So in a way, it was easy for him in that aspect.

How to pay for the rent or mortgage of the church building.
    (He IS the foundation)

Dealing with a leadership board on the DIRECTION of the church.
    (He is THE WAY)

How to Provide for the less fortunate.
(A little dirt in a blind mans eyes, a basket with fish and a few loathes of bread, and a command to the grave of Lazarus to rise. PROBLEMS SOLVED)

    Easy stuff for Jesus.

    BAD COP strongly disagrees

    Jesus had it EASY!!!
    Are you kidding me???

    Denied by Paul 3 times,

Sold to the highest bidders by Judist,

Tortured and beaten before being crucified,

After his resurrection he STILL HAD to prove himself to Thomas for him to believe.

And While praying about dying on the cross FOR US he sweated blood (Not water, "BLOOD")while begging the father to take this cup from him KNOWING WHAT HE HAD TO GO THROUGH.

In some ways YES Jesus life was easy. Mainly because he was about HIS FATHERS BUSINESS and not CHURCH BUSINESS.
But his life (along with the lives of the 12 apostles) was hardly a stress free cake walk.

    1. Cop like you I do agree with most of what was quoted but would disagree with JESUS latter days being easy, he had it anything but easy.

    2. Excellent answer Cop! I was speaking from the so called business perspective. Christ had it so easy in that perspective, he gave the money bag to a thief;).

As far as laying down your life, Christ had it harder than all, because he knows everyone he laid it down for ....Selah.....

  4. I don't believe Jesus had it easy and neither will we. The Christian life is not easy. Sometimes it is very difficult. Few things that are worthwhile are easy. Paul, who was a rising up-and-comer in the Jewish faith, gave it all up for Jesus, and never expressed a moment's regret. He wrote, "whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish (KJV "dung") that I may gain Christ" (Philippians 3:7-8).

At one point many of Jesus' disciples left him because of a "hard teaching" that he gave. Jesus asked Peter if he and the rest of the twelve would leave him also. Peter replied, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life" (John 6:68). When things become a bit difficult I think of this passage. "Lord, where else can I go?" Whatever the difficulties of the Christian life, I cannot imagine leaving it for a life without Christ.

  5. St Mark 14: 32) And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray. 33) And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy; 34) And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch. 35) And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. 36) And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.

How can anyone compare Christ`s Ministry here on Earth to anything we have seen ( in our Local neighborhood Churches, or TV Ministries ) ) or heard ( on the Radio ) in our lifetimes. Most Ministries and Leaders don't follow Christ`s perfect example. Christ gave the ULTIMATE SACRIFICE.....HIS VERY LIFE ! Christ is the Incarnate /Only Begotten Son of God...The Monogenes, ( one of a kind ). WE ARE STRIVING TO BE LIKE , HIM ! He Created the whole Universe and manage to keep Oxygen available for all living beings, the Sun hot and the Planets and Stars all held in their place, while rebuking those self-righteous Pharisees & Sadducees, raising the dead, healing Lepers and the woman with the "issue of blood" and too much more to say here. (see Job Chapter 38:1-41 ). Jesus did the will of the Father.....Will we ALL do our assignments and end up with, "Well done my good and faithful servant...." ?

  6. Easy... REALLY? Jesus had at least 3 attempts on his life bc of his preaching. They tried to STONE him right on the spot. Talk about pressure, talk about truly being commited. That doesn't sound easy at all in fact MOST of these pastors today would be in another profession if they knew they could get killed in an instant from their preaching. There was NOTHING easy about Jesus' ministry.
