Is it going To Be Hard To Chart On Billboard For Christian Hip-hop Now??

"Most" Christian rappers will no longer be able to appear on the gospel Billboard charts in 2014, the website announced, after "urging" from the gospel industry for change. Source:

I'm finding that the main issue these guys are having is that "Christian" and "gospel" are not musical genres, rather labels that let a consumer know that the content in the lyrics are Christian-based.

  1. I don't know how to feel about this one???

  3. Who cares? Why would CHH artists want to be on some lame irrelevant chart with a bunch of Satan Worshipers? Who do you think owns Billboard? Just keep making the music and use Rapzilla as the official chart. Just sayin.

  4. The Gospel industry had no qualms with CHH artists being in the billboard category until they started outselling them. This has caused many established Gospel artists to no longer chart as high and hurt egos and marketing plans. There's a word for that #hater

  5. I'm guessing there'll be different reactions from different artists. Because from my understanding people like Lecrae don't want to be considered a "Christian rapper" so he'd be in favor of it? Maybe?
