Jesus Take The Wheel: Montgomery Pastor Admits To Having AIDS, & Sleeping With Church Members!??!?!

It's an announcement that continues to rock a Montgomery church and the surrounding community. WSFA 12 News confirmed with church leaders, including the now former pastor of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Juan Demetrius McFarland himself, that McFarland confessed from the pulpit a few Sundays ago that he had full blown AIDS and had slept with church members without revealing he had AIDS. Shocked and stunned, church members contacted the 12 NEWS DEFENDERS and reaction is coming in from the congregation that is still in disbelief.

McFarland didn't hold back when he revealed to worshipers at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church on Sept. 14, that he contracted HIV in 2003 and discovered in 2008 he had AIDS. "The church was very accepting of Reverend McFarland and was willing to help him in any way possible," a church member, who wanted to remain unnamed, explained. Once the pastor, with 23 years of leadership, started revealing more and more on the following Sundays, members and leaders say they realized he had crossed the line. Full Story

This speaks to the insanity of pastor worship. It is not his sleeping with people in his church KNOWING he had full blown AIDS, or stealing from his own church, or having sex in the church.... It is the fact that after he told his congregation he did all those things.... MANY SUPPORTED HIM AND WANTED HIM TO CONTINUE TO BE PASTOR. That is the insanity. How do you explain that? What is that about? Help me, because I just don't get it.

  1. I like to point out situations such as this to church members and people in general that are of the belief system that

"If the pastor is doing wrong, we aren't to judge or correct him, we will let GOD WILL DEAL WITH HIM!"

God will deal with the pastors regardless of our reactions. But if we as Christians turn a blind eye to the indiscretions of the pastor we our just as guilty (sometimes criminally)

When we have knowledge of a pastor robbing the church fund, cheating on his wife, sleeping with other women(or men) we have a duty as the body of Christ to address it to him and his peers.

Sweeping church sandals under the rug, turning our heads or "Gods gonna get 'em but I ain't saying nothing" attitudes only add to the problem.

    1. I absolutely agree 100%!! The church has an obligation to hold its leaders accountable and set the presidence for future leaders. Pastors need to STRICTLY be held to moral clauses set by the church. We've seen what turning a blind eye did to the Catholic church and many of its children. A church that doesn't take action against blatant violations is just as much at fault as the pastor, and should be dismantled.

    2. Cop right on,being a pastor myself, things like this really hinder trying to win souls to Christ!

  2. This whole story makes me sick, yes what the "pastor" did was horrible, but I also can't get past the fact that several women had sex with him In the church building ! Seems like the fear of God is becoming a thing of the past

  3. Oh my goodness... can't trust anyone these days!!

  4. He was just removed Sunday from the pulpit. Police also escorted him off the premises.

  5. Abraham's Daughter!Thursday, 09 October, 2014

Wow this is sad and very sick. It seems that the congregation was willing to stand beside him up until he admitted to knowingly infecting others. He could steal from them, mislead them in the word, commit adultery, and even admit to using drugs as their pastor of 22 years. And even then the actual possibly infected members weren't willing to go on the record? This is just sad!

  6. I know they are making this about Aids, but the fact that many folk in the church were sleeping with him is very troublesome. He should have been fired for that act a long time ago. When you call yourself a professional and are in a position of leadership, that sort of thing is inexcusable. Why did they wait until Aids became an issue before the outrage? When the first rumors started swirling that he is a man whore, is when action should have been taken.

    1. Exactly.

Pastor can sleep with all the women in the church

But because he has an STD

  7. Preacher like this gives GOOD Pastor's a bad reputation.
This is ONE of the reason why it's taken me SO long to get back into church.
    I have trust issues.

  8. This is almost unbelievable! The pastor of this church admitted to his congregation that he had full blown AIDS, a drug user, and embezzled church funds. I checked various online sources and apparently it's true.
The church is a hospital so have no issue with the sin. But you can not be in leadership! Lord come quickly. Smh
