What happen from one generation to the next? Where did the ball get dropped? If he isn't the center of our life, walk, the way we entreat an react then how do we except Him to be theirs?!! "The psychic services industry — which includes astrology, aura reading, mediumship, tarot-card reading and palmistry, among other metaphysical services — grew 2% between 2011 and 2016. Fix It Jesus: Another "Christian Rapper " Prefering Not To Be Called A "Christian Rapper"!?!?!

Trip Lee is a pastor and a rapper who just sat down with BET to discuss his new album, "RISE," and why he prefers not to be called a "Christian Rapper." (You can catch the interview here). My question, why are these guys all of a sudden working overtime, trying to debunk the Christian label?  Why every time they get put on bet tv they say they not a christian rapper, but before they was famous they was claiming they a christian rapper?  I'm done with this whole "don't call me a Christian this or a Christian that." Remember how you got here, now that you are here don't forget.  Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter. Something to think about.....Christian Rappers. A Message to Christian Rappers:

Comments

  1. Love Trip Lee. His music is Christian Rap but also just Hip Hop or some songs even Pop or Alternative. He is trying to reach a broader base (REACH Records) therefore anything limiting as far as labels they will resist bc they want EVERYONE to hear their POSITIVE music/message. I dont have a problem w it.

    1. He 's trying to reach a broader base? Christianity is a LABEL? AND it's limiting? They want everyone to hear their positive music? What about the GOSPEL??? What are they teaching in Sunday schools these days? http://exministries.tv/a-message-to-recording-artists/

    2. I don't get, why they hate to be called a Christian Rapper tho? they say we misfit but they dying to fit in to mainstream.

    3. Jesus said REACH the lost not the saved. Being labeled as a "Christian" Artist makes them reach only the saved which goes against the whole point of evangelism.

  2. This is just like when Raven symone says she doesnt like labels only wants to be seen as someone who loves humans and is only an american and not african bla bla bla. These Christian rappers need to becareful that they don't not only run away from being a Christian rapper walking with Jesus to a rapper thats the norm. I pray they keep their faith and continue to spread the good news

    1. Not the same. This is a "stratergy" to reach the LOST. Did our Lord not say be more cunning than a serpent? We r behind enemy lines they r just infiltrating the lost and once they hear their music they will hear the good news. Its about Christ not rejecting him about spreading the gospel not stopping it.

  3. Being a Christian is a work in progress, but lets face it, probably 95% of these so-called Christian entertainers, singers, rappers, etc. are only trying to make some money. Just like most of these crooked pimping preachers.

    1. Bingo! They are in it for the money!! If the potential to make a lot of money wasn't there, then most of them wouldn't be either.

    2. every preacher isn't like the preachers that's being advertised as money focused… there are some of us who are preaching for the glory of God, the edification of the believers and the salvation of the lost… I've preached many of times and refused to take money… so we're all not in it for the money…

    3. And not every Christian Rapper who wants Christian dropped from their music so they can reach the lost r only doing it for the money. These brothers r legit!

  4. TRASH all of REACH as walked away from the faith LETS KEEP them all in PRAYER this is a SPIRITUAL BATTLE for they are loosing the purpose. I am a CHRISTIAN before anything else. Christian Business owner, Christian Father, Christian Husband. So why does he say he is a rapper before a christian rapper. Like lecrae and his nonsense. Who are these guys answering to, who are there pastors and elders they answer too. I would love to know who Reach answers too. Cause they are no biblical either. LETS stand for HOLINESS and SET APART Spirit that is join into proclaiming the name of JESUS and what we BELIEVE and STAND FOR.

    1. So walking away from the Faith is Trip Lee when off tour going to Seminary so he can become a pastor? Hmmmmm.... think before u speak brother and just dont make sweeping statements especially if they arent true.

  5. The reason some of these brothers have been claiming to be called "rappers" instead of "Christian rapper" is because they are in a position as a missionary to the hip hop culture. They will be more effective if seen as a peer by mainstream artist than a "Christian artist". The one on one ministry that can take place will be a blessing. Whether we support them or not, but if we pray that God will lead them to share Christ with mainstream artist, producers, and entertainers that we cannot reach... then Lord Jesus use the platform that Lecrae, Trip Lee or any other Rappers that represent you can infiltrate the enemies camp and drag some dying souls into the LIGHT. When will Christians get real and recognize that sometimes in war... you have to be strategic and be led by God who says "Your ways are not my ways and thoughts are not my thoughts". Let's pray that God who is in control would speak to these brothers and lead them. Trash talking helps no one!

    1. Jesus said if we deny Him before men, He'll deny us before The Father… the only strategy to infiltrating in spiritual war is "The Word of God"…

    2. If u listen to their music u can CLEARLY tell they arent denying Christ. Also they r saying they arent JUST Christian artist but ARTIST. If they r labeled Christian then it limits the impact they can make to the lost.

      Delete
  6. By saying they arent just a Christian Rapper doesnt mean they r rejecting Christ... ANYONE who listens to their music KNOWS this. All they rap about is Christ and lives being changed and giving God the glory. Question, why do yall have double standards? He is an artist but yall want him to say he is a Christian Artist. Ok.... how many of you have professions especially if self employed and put in front of the title? If you are a Lawyer do u put Christian Lawyer as ur title or JUST Lawyer? Same w being an accountant or whatever u r. Stop having double standards. We KNOW these guys r Christians especially if u know their back stories but they make art/music that they want EVERYONE to use not just Christians. If it says Christian Rap when they go to sell the CD guess what ONLY Christians will buy it. They arent trying to REACH the saved but the lost. They want NON CHRISTIANS buying their cds so they can hear the good news. Tony Evans has a program called the Urban Alternative, what REACH is trying to do with their music is give ppl who love hip hop and alternative to just negative themes murder drugs guns hoes pimps etc. They tryna feed ppl Jesus marriage monogomy celibacy righteousness respect self esteem and honor. I love these BROTHERS. As Christians we should b helping them NOT attacking them. Craig G is wrong in this one. These brothers r trying to glorify the Lord not Satan.

  7. Thank you for saying this. They want these guys to carry labels but how many of them put Christian in front of their own profession. This is nothing but Pharisee talk. Our mission is to reach the lost not recycle saints. Lecrae and Trip Lee are doing an excellent job. Their lyrics are all about Jesus. That can't be said for some gospel and for some Christianseho never lift up Jesus but instead use him as a weapon to criticize and condemn rather than lead people to Christ.
