There Is No ‘Third Way’ — Southern Baptists Face a Moment of Decision (and so will you)!
|Dr. R. Albert Mohler Jr. President of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary|
Great article! God is about to remove the fence that so many "Christians" sit on. Things are about to get real for some Southern Baptist churches. Especially, those churches that have decided to embrace homosexuality. Southern Baptists will be heading to Baltimore in just a few days, for their annual meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention. The convention will be held in a city that has not hosted the convention since 1940. This time, Baptists attending the meeting will face an issue that would not have been imaginable just a few years ago, much less in 1940 — a congregation that affirms same-sex relationships. Source:
According to comments on a Facebook post I read this morning, churches that embrace homosexuality might be blocked from being in the convention, period:
Comment: The Southern Baptist churches that have decided to go against biblical precepts regarding homosexuality need to be blocked from being in the convention, period. I do believe that gays should be invited into the church to hear the gospel and the truth in a loving way and from loving Christians. We should always tell the truth of the word of God and how he can transform us all and set us free from ALL types of sins.
Voddie Baucham Ministries: "The Southern Baptist churches that have decided to go against biblical precepts regarding homosexuality need to be blocked from being in the convention, period." And they will!
Comment: The Lord's churches should be independent and self governing anyway. Who cares what some board, group of men, have to say about it. Churches should base their convictions on the only rule of faith and practice, the Word of God.
Voddie Baucham Ministries: "The Lord's churches should be independent and self governing anyway." That is precisely the position of the SBC! All SBC churches are independent and self governing. This is about whether or not this church will continue to be associated with the rest of us.It looks like the Southern Baptist Church, will be sending a very strong message in a couple of days.
