Oprah's Network Take A Look At Charismatic Christianity Belief In Casting Out Demons?

Do you believe in casting out demons? If so, what do you think is needed to cast out demons? And, who can cast out demons?

The first episode of the final season of Lisa Ling's Our America will feature charismatic churches and the practice of casting out devils. For the show, which airs on Oprah Winfrey's network, OWN  Ling will visit charismatic churches in Georgia and Florida to observe the practice of deliverance, "where faith and the power of Christ are called upon to cast Satan's demons from the emotionally tormented," a press release says.

  1. Casting out devils is not just a charismatic doctrine. It's part of the current day ministry of the body of Christ- the part that is following Him. Christians who refuse to do it or deny its reality are shirking the Words of Jesus and part of the Great Commission.

  2. One does have to wonder about the integrity of a church that would allow Oprah in to film anything, much less deliverance from demons. She does disgust me, but what makes me unspeakably angry is the Christians who support her!

  3. Why does church always have to have a peep show to the world concerning these things, they don't understand spiritual things anyway.

I really can't say too much about the show because I've been involved in deliverance ministries and Pentecostal ministries my entire life. but some things I do have issues with as far as what Jesus did and how they're doing it.

  5. I agree with ever statement except these...Oprah disgusting you. I would hate if you ran into Oprah anytime in your life and you tried to minister to her or someone like her...that is not the right spirit to have concerning people period. You have to show forth love. and to Member only in name...the fact of the matter we weren't there to see how Jesus carried out deliverance hence forth we don't know how individuals physically responded. My take is what ever it takes for a person's deliverance let it be so...that is not our call. However I am questioning my involvement in this conversation because really who would ask the question do we believe in casting out demons its written in the word. How can we as Christians choose what part of the Bible we want to believe. Its not about my opinion or what I feel, if it is in his word it is so...ijs

  6. Scripture states that many will use the name of Jesus to cast out demons and do mighty works. Even non-believers. Because there is REAL power in His name. It's not the person that has the power, it's Jesus.
    (see Mark 9:38&39).

On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ (Matthew 7:22-23
