Did Bishop Jake's Have Book Author/Elder Escorted Out Of The Potter House Church????

The internet is abuzz once again, this time with rumors that Bishop T.D. Jakes had a  long time Elder escorted out of the Potter House Church. The  elder in question is Elder David Lee Richardson who is reported to have been  part of the Potters house church family for years, and now decided to write a book entitled “The Sunday Morning Stick Up. "What your pastor doesn’t want you to know about tithes.”

    1. How are folks being deceived here?

    2. Study the Bible on the subject entirely and in context and in dispensation! That should/will open up enlightment and turn on lights for you. Then make your own choices from there!

    1. Thanks thedove34,for your comment but,I don't think folks are deceived because they chose in and believe in supporting their church with their monies.

    2. Nothing wrong with supporting your church. The bible tells us God loves a "Cheeful "GIVER".......

  5. The ugly truth is that most preachers are not honest or trust worthy when the issue is church money, especially in black churches this has always been a problem. I have personaly been a member of a church where the preacher stole, hi-jacked and or conned the congregation out of several thousands of dollars to the point legal action was necessary to eject them from the church.

    1. I agree some people do have problems with honesty when it come to money. But Jakes have never been shown to have that problem.

    3. Anonymous I can not lie I'm a big fan of Bishop Jakes teaching. I can't find any fault with him or his teaching. If something bad and ugly fall out his of his closet in the near future and it can be proven beyond a shadow of doubt, and it causes me to lose respect for him, I'll let you'll know. Right now I don't have a problem with Bishop Jakes.

    4. this is the problem key word a fan of if you are a fan of anyone or anything you set yourself up for disappointment's we cannot put our trust in man we have the truth right in front of us which is the bible if you want the truth
      read the bible

    5. How would you even know that he was on the down low unless you run in the same circle of people? Obviously you are not running with Bible based Christians who are walking according to the word of God, or you wouldn't even be putting info out of something you are not an eye witness of!

  7. When I give Tithes I give it in obedience to God. Therefore, what the Church does with it is not my concern. Naturally I would be disappointed if the Church was abusing funds, but I don't give to the building (Unless it's an offering) I give because I believe it's what the Father wants. Some Christians are so concerned with what others are doing they forget that they themselves have unresolved issues.

    2. @McNeill So you really dont care if the preacher is a wolf in sheep clothing. As long as you pay your tithes. They can molest little boys and girls sleep with the members still money and be lovers of money and its ok as long as you pay your tithes.Where are the real men of GOD? Sir please read what Paul did for the Gospel

    3. How did "Where my money goes" equate to "If my pastor is raping kids or loves money it's okay!?" Very dangerous what you did with that comment, sir. The key word in the initial report that Ann Brock presented was "Rumors". The gentleman wrote a book on “The Sunday Morning Stick Up. "What your pastor doesn’t want you to know about tithes.” I merely stated that I'm not an accountant and I can't check for every dollar Bishop Jakes uses and if it's being used for the Kingdom. I can only trust in GOD whom I give me Tenth to and after I give in obedience. It's not my concern. My concern is going out and preaching the Gospel AND my salvation. For you to take that statement and assume that I don't care if Bishop Jakes is molesting and stealing is very irresponsible. I certainly didn't intend to come of that way at all.

    4. T.D. Jakes is wrong about a lot of things, but if he did have this man put out, he did the right thing. I honestly believe the guy is capitalizing on people's hate for Jakes and other mega pastors order to garner support for the lies he's teaching. Tithing is a biblical principle and duty of God's people. Furthermore, it baffles me how people will spend their money with all types of vendors and not think twice about what they are doing with it, but will use a preacher buying nice things as an excuse to disobey God. What about the money you spend at walmart which is a VERY evil company, you never consider how you're making the Walton's rich while they overwork and underpay and mistreat their employees. What about the convenience store owner who sells tobacco and alcohol illegally to minors, do you hold him to the same standards and not patronize? By not being obedient and not giving tithes AND offerings, you ARE NOT, I repeat ARE NOT hurting a pastor, you are hurting God and yourself with that disobedience.

    5. I find it interesting how you can dedicate your entire life to uplifting and building others just to be scrutinized under a microscope and berated by the evil thoughts of others. However, if you have an ax to grind and write a book no one takes the time to find out who you are before receiving whatever sewage you are vomiting. Has anyone in this response trail done a thorough review of David Lee Richardson's life? Then why are you receiving his trash. Remember, the garbage can smells as bad as the garbage itself.

      Delete
    6. The better response is, have any of you ever read, and studied the whole bible on tithing? It is obvious that the answer is no. You, just like me were taught to tithe and introduced to Scriptures that talked about people doing it. But you have never done your own work based on context and dispensation, who was being addressed etc.... All who have not studied need to tuck tail and be quiet. And if you ever read the book, you may find that only scriptures are used in order and in dispensation etc, and in context. Plus when God gives a mandate to do a writing, we ought not obey man, but obey God. Last, but not least, that book controversy just opened up doors all over the world for this man's ministry and ministering on more than just tithes. God knows what to do and how to do it. "Check Mate".......PS: what are you doing ministerial wise by the call or mandate of God? Oh, I forgot, just sitting back talking and judging someone who was bold enough to declare the complete word of God on a matter.......Until you study to show yourself approved, rightly dividing the Word of God truthfully, just shut it up! Be delivered and blessed!

  8. Unfortunately many people are being deceived especially when it comes to the principle of giving. Many preachers use manipulation and scare tactics to get people to give and this guy's book is probably seen as a major threat to Jakes' ministry, in particular, the revenue aspect of it. And them Jakes' boys are probably afraid that his book exposes some of the tricks and schemes of the tithing lie.

    1. Anonymous what about folks who give to the church just because they want to and or not being deceived? Everyone is not deceived that give to the church. You do know that right? There's a very large group of church folks who give out of a heart of compassion for the work of the kingdom of God.

    2. Sister, that's why I if you noticed I said "many" are deceived, not "all". Yes there are a number of people who give genuinely but there is also a very large group who also give out of fear that they'll be cursed if they don't or they give from the promise that they'll get something back in return because that's what many preachers have taught them.

      Delete
    3. Anonymous my fault, you did state "many" and not all. And by the way, I understand what you are saying. There's a very large group of church folks who believe that if they don't give monies to the church then they and their household are curse.

  12. My only comment is that people please read for yourselves what the tithes mandated by YHUH the most high Alahym stated in Leviticus, and what His Son and the prophets and the taught ones of the Mashyach continued to teach......first tithes are and always have been a tenth of the firstfruits of the fields. Why? Because the levites had no inheritance. No land of their own. With them, they were responsible to provide for the widow, the fatherless children, and the stranger. In Malachi, the levites were being reprimanded for not keeping these commands and for slaughtering unacceptable animals. So read Malachi in its entirety, as well as the book of leviticus before you start defending folks

    1. Once again the reason I tithe and give an offering is "BECAUSE I WANT TO." And if I don't want to give any thing then I don't without feeling guilty.

      Delete
    2. Look up this term in Wikipedia "cognitive dissonance", it will tell you why so many people just "want to" tithe. However when you read the Bible, you will find that the only ones able to receive tithe had to belong to one of two preisthoods (Aaron and that of Melchesidek). It's actually sin for some one to receive tithe that's not of the priesthoods mentioned. Hebrews tells us that the preisthood order changed to that of Melchesidek (you had to be The Priest and The King), so the tithe changed also - all being paid in Christ. The only order of NT giving is from the heart. Yes Anne, there is a stick up going on in church.

  13. In addition, when Abraham gave to the sovereign of Salem he did so because he didn't want him to say that it was because of him that Abraham was wealthy. He gave to Malak Tsadaq because he was Kahan Gadul, high priest. Yaqab/Jacib promised a tenth as a vow to the most high, for enlarging him, not because he was commanded to do so.

My last and final comment....why do pastors teach the Turah/law was done away with, but keep the tithe? No more Shabath, but it's part of the "ten." No more taking the name of YHUH in vein, but it's part of the ten. No more lusting after your neighbor, but it's part of the ten. They say keep the ten only and forget the rest. But Hebrews only states that the slaughtered offerings were done away with at Calvary. Tithing wasn't part of the ten, but yet it's to be kept? Really? Im not Jewish, black hebrew israelite or catholic or anything else. Just someone truly sad about the deception rome has infiltrated into the people and folks are still too blind to see. Please begin to study for yourself. Buy a lexicon or two. Get a hebrew and greek parallel scripture. Buy a hebrew bible dictionary, and get out the kjv. Buy the Scriptures. Learn the truth and then start asking questions. You will find out just how well you've been misled. Shalum

    1. You need to read the scriptures, Abraham neglected to receive spoils from the war from the evil king so that he couldn't be given credit for making him rich instead of God. He tithed to the king of Salem because he recognized who that king actually was.
