There's a group in Harlem planning a Gay Pride Picnic event for the week of June24-26.....But local pastors in the community are not feeling the event....One pastor in particular is vowing his family won't leave the house that day...He expects his parishioners to follow his lead and stay indoors when the second annual Harlem Pride event arrives June 24. "If children start to believe it is okay to be gay, they will think it's okay to be a pedophile or have sex with animals," said Dr. Ronald Ferguson, the senior pastor at Antioch Church of God on W. 124th St. "It's a slippery slope." "This gay pride nonsense is an abomination," Ferguson told the Daily News. "God does not want to see homosexuals in our parks.""Due to our religious beliefs, we do not support ... that event."
Like I've stated many times on this blog.....I am part of "The Black Church" and love the role the church plays in the black community....But there's no way I'll support the thinking of these particular church leaders at all...For any one trying to use or associate pedophile and sex with animals in the same sentence as identifying gay people is wrong....Come-on this is a low blow!....I support the church teaching that ALL sin is wrong in God eye sight....But when the church start teaching none-sense like this is when I must draw the line.....These pastors need to be rebuke call on the carpet, chew out, lambast, reprimand, scold, take to task I believe and feel very strongly in my heart that the issue of homosexuality and abortion will be dealt with at the judgement seat of Christ article here.
