What happen from one generation to the next? Where did the ball get dropped? If he isn't the center of our life, walk, the way we entreat an react then how do we except Him to be theirs?!! "The psychic services industry — which includes astrology, aura reading, mediumship, tarot-card reading and palmistry, among other metaphysical services — grew 2% between 2011 and 2016. It is now worth $2 billion annually, according to industry analysis firm IBIS World".

What's Happening To Michael Vick Is Like Pouring Water On A Drowning Man!

One of life’s lessons we all have to learn is humility. Now the Bible is very clear about humility. God speaks over and over again about how he gives his power to the humble. He even opposes the proud, which is the opposite of humility. First off, I don't know anything about Michael Vick other than my husband would love to see him play football again. He's hoping the Jaguars pick- him. Therefore, this opinion is base on me being on the out side looking in.

If any one of us live long enough life will hand every person a situation at which time we 'll be utterly helpless. It may be a relational situation, family situation, financial situation , health situation or in Vick's case being allowed a second chance. It's at this moment that our life will be defined. We'll either live in denial or we'll ask God and others for help. This is the point to where God becomes real to most people. I am not saying Vick didn't no God before this happen. I am just saying this is where the saying comes from that, “you don’t know God’s all you need until God’s all you got.”

I think that there are not many people who would say that they are prideful. Most people would say to some degree they are humble. If you haven't been tested in a certain area you really don't no. what Again I find that what most people say about themselves in these certain areas and what they live out in there life don’t match up. I really don't believe we start out in life with the intentional to be prideful, boastful or arrogance it just sneaks up on us. I think one of the greatest form of pride is that we don't want others to call or see our our weakness.

My husband made the following statement: "That black men put a lot of pressure on themselves to hide their own weakness. He said it was because we were taught to be strong and self sufficient. And if you show weakness, people will not accept you or your spouse will not respect you, your children will not follow you." So I ask my husband because God gives His power to a humble heart just how much power do he believe Vick has right now? A lot! if he's allowed the chance to prove it. Watching Vick's life we now can see why God hates pride, it robs Him of a relationship with us and others.

  1. Young people and children are watching this. I have two sons. Should the message to them be that if you have a lot of talent that can make people a lot of money, that life's core values don't matter? Terrell Owens has none of that humility that you speak of and no matter what he does, the fact that he can make people a lot of money keeps winning out.

Vick can work on whatever relationship with God he has out of public sight.

Michael Vick is being exploited because he has talent and watching this makes us all poorer?

  2. Pride is an exultation of oneself, in other words, glorying in yourself. It keeps you from feeling sorry or apologetic because you are to proud to do so.
Now in order for the LORD to come into your life, you have to be repentant. A proud person would never repent, because they don't feel that they've done anything wrong. That is why the LORD doesn't like a prideful person, because he loves us and want to help us, but we have to ask and repent. Pride won't allow you to.

  3. There's nothing wrong with being proud of an accomplishment. When the ego of man crowds out the glory of God, then we have a problem.

I would be hesitant to say that Terrel Owens has "no" humility. For the most part, we know nothing about this man except what the cameras allow us to see. Lets be real, the media (news)is proned to show us the bad aspects of life. that's how they make their money. It may be more proper to say Terrel exhibits an arrogant behavior while on camera.

"Michael Vick is being exploited because he has talent and watching this makes us all poorer"

How is it making us poorer? I think watching "this?" proves a point. I think it depends on the heart of the individuals watching this and what messages they are looking for. Wrong will move away from right and misery loves company.

  4. Without the LORD,you have not accomplished anything to be proud of. Store your treasures in heaven, because on earth, as everything else, it fades away. Read Solomon's story in Ecclesiastes.
The wisest and richest man of his time, and he call it all vanity, meaning empty or useless, how much more do you have than he? or how many more accomplishment have you reach than he? Whatever the answer, all vanity, nothing to be proud of.

  5. "Without the LORD,you have not accomplished anything to be proud of"

I don't know if the above is an opinion or scripture. Even if the statement is merely an opinion based on an interpretation of the bible, there's a begging question.

When does one recieve the Lord into their heart? Here's the root of my question. If a person has repented and thus been saved are thye then in the wake of gods Kingdom? If not, is the sentence implying that we are never with the Lord until after death. To say a person should not be proud is simply not true.

To refer to Solomon has no connect to this discussion. Sure, Solomon had untold riches but what does this have to do with being proud?!

What is the connection between vanity and being proud?

If we allow scripture to be used to validate a point. It would be wise to use scripture that speaks to the subject. In this case, what scripture details the good or bad of being proud? Not vanity or overblown egos.

Again, a person errors when they take scripture out of it's context and then muddles it with an opinion. It serves only to bring doubt in the deliverer.

Some discerning eyes will look for the seed beneath the shell. It's wise to know your audience. Some are looking for knowledge of what not to do and others are looking for the right way.

  6. First let me say, I don't go back and forth with the word of GOD,because it is what it is.
I will say this: "But the natural man receiveth not the things of the spirit of GOD; for they are foolishness unto him; niether can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 1CORINTHIANS chap2 verse 14
    Proud, meaning=Having or showing excessive self-esteem, highly pleased,EXULANT, GLORIOUS.(Dictionary)
Speaking for myself, If I'm going to glory in anything, I will glory in the LORD only.

  7. "First let me say, I don't go back and forth with the word of GOD,because it is what it is"

    I wouldn't know it -- you didn't show it. >>>>> "I will say this: "But the natural man..... 1CORINTHIANS chap2 verse 14

I am done, this was a learning experience.

  8. Just to explain the scripture I quoted; Natural in this verse; is the opposite of spiritual. Meaning this, I'll make it simple.
If a person talks to me in french and i'm not familiar with the language, of course I have no clue what he/she is saying....Same with spiritual things, If I am communicating spiritually to a natural person, he/she would have no clue what I am saying.Which brings us to spiritual things are spiritually decerned. With that I now conclude this. Have a bless day everyone:)

  9. Again, a person errors when they believe they are talking above the crowd. I do not believe ANYONE did not/does not understand the difference between spiritual and "natural man" (your words).

An assumption that one person is talking "spiritually" and the other is listening from a human position, is bound to cause problems. Unfortunatly, the problem will not be in the lap of the listener.

"the word of GOD,because it is what it is"

That statement is true. But problems occur when some misinterpret those words and misquidedly assign/attach them to him.

It's unfortunate that some try to play the trump card of "God Said" to seal a deal. It most certainally is a deal breaker on so many levels.

Some consider using scripture out of context as a slippery slope -- sometimes foolish.

Anger lies in the belly of a fool and every closed eye ain't sleep. That's not scripture, that's a fact.
