Lovingly referred to as Mom and Pop Winans, the deeply rooted Detroit couple crafted an impressive career that later extended to their children and grandchildren. Their music legacy also helped establish the city as the gospel capital of the world.

David "Pop" Winans' health took a turn for the worst late last year. He suffered a series of four strokes, seizures and a heart attack beginning in the fall of 2008 and was admitted to Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak on Sept. 30.

  1. Hello there,

It is sad that he suffered in the end but it is GLORIOUS that he was a man who believed on Jesus Christ as Lord and is now dancing with our Savior!

    Peace, blessings and DUNAMIS!
