Let's Praise The Lord.

The word ‘praise’ is in the Bible 248 times in 216 verses, according to the King James Version. Just think about when we reach heaven, we will enter His gates with thanksgiving and enter into his court with praise . However, nothing quite says “Welcome” like Psalm 22:1-3, God inhabit the praise of His people.

So, if God knows what praise does for us and how important it is just imagine what it does for him? So lets praise the Lord! Praise God from who all blessing flow.

Obama Won The Debate!

I think Obama won the debate last night. He didn't come off as week, he came off as someone who actually walks the walk with respect to trying to reach across the aisle. How in hell can McCain really get bipartisan buy-in with his confrontational attitude? Bullying people into agreeing? That's not building coalitions & cooperation. Obama proved he had that grace, without losing his cool. Like, he displayed the tactfulness that might lead people to think he could successfully pull our national reputation out of the international gutter. And then, in the moments with McCain stared right at the camera, smug as if he'd finally be asked a question on which he had actually done his homework, his delivery was predictable. "oh! I called Obama dangerous." I believe Obama will perform better on the next two topics.

What I Think!

Opinions are ideas largely based on personal experiences and preferences. For example, it’s my opinion that Obama is the better candidate for president. However, it’s impossible to know how either candidate would perform if they became president; we can only make an educated guess.

Beliefs are ideas based on verifiable information, such as statistics, historical facts, ethical truisms, or other material that serves as proof for the belief. For example, most Americans believe democracy is right for America, and freedoms such as speech, religion, assembly, and due process are necessary and worth defending.

Convictions are the ideas at our core. Without them, we wouldn’t be whole. It’s my conviction that there’s one God: the triune Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It’s my opinion that my presidential pick is the better choice (But I’ve got nothing of substance to back that up.) It’s my belief that—while I’ll vote because it’s a privilege—my vote is just one in a number. (The Electoral College decides this contest.) It’s my conviction that our God is sovereign and His plans for America, will go forth regardless of who sits in the commander-in-chief’s seat.

Uppity is an Adjective: informal, snobbish, arrogant, or presumptuous.
Taking liberties or assuming airs beyond one's place in a social hierarchy. Assuming equality with someone higher up the social ladder. This is what I remember growing up in the deep south. My grand mother would always address white people and other older blacks with Mrs/ Mr. The blacks would address her in the same fashion ( they call it putting a handle on your name) But the whites no matter what the age would call her Azzie which was her first name. I didn't like it when people call my grand mother by her first name because to me it was a sign of disrespect. The Old South whites would not allow their subordinates (people under them) to address them by their first name, because it shows uppityness and they would put you in your place with a good tongue lashing. I like the article that appeared in the New York Times . I believe the Old South is still alive and well. Thats part of the reason Obam and Michelle is catching hell. That Old South way of thinking is enbeded within alot of well meaning people. For that reason alone with give me great pleasure in pulling that level for Obama on Nov 4.

Rush Limbaugh Don't Like The Truth.

Since, Obama has really made this week complete by getting Limbaugh all piss off. Limbaugh wrote a long article in which he's downright angry that Obama put him in an ad, linking him to McCain. Limbaugh is upset that the ad made him look like he wasn't a friend to minorities. Pleaseee! The man who played the song "Barack the Magic Negro" on his show is now upset that Obama - yes, Obama - made him look like he might be a racist. If we notice he didn't say that the words were not true but that they were taken out of context. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and suggest that maybe, just maybe, "Barack the Magic Negro" has made Limbaugh look like what he is and that is a true Red Neck. Anyway, kudos to the Obama campaign for ticking off Limbaugh. Let's see more ads like that. Lord knows it wouldn't be hard to tie McCain to Coulter, Hannity, and the rest of them too.

Feminizing The Church.

Since the Southern Baptist Convention (which by the way owns Life way stores) does not believe in women pastors. So, it's only appropriate that they would not promote and display (and, thereby, endorse) a magazine promoting women pastors. I’m sure that many object to what they did but, they are standing by what they believe to be truth. But as for women pastors I am not in agreement with that either. Wait a minute! I don't have a problem with women teaching or preaching in the church but to head a church is not the woman role. Our society don't like gender roles but God in His all knowing do therefore He chose the order. I believe God established the rules and the roles when HE gave Adam control over every thing. Remember when God went to the garden looking for Adam and Eve? Whom did He question concerning their sin? It was Adam not Eve even doth she was present. God did not ask Eve anything. God is a God of order weather we want to admit it or not. Jesus was not concerned with conforming to society (just the opposite), but he still believed it was important to appoint only men for His apostles. I believe that husbands are head of the family as Christ is head of the Church. This is pretty clear to me, but we should also remember that it is the husband who is to lay down his life for his family (as Christ did for the Church). I believe the consequences of female pastors will be devastating, and may very well lead to a sort of feminizing of the Church.

Bill O' Reilly's Obsession With Ms. Obama.

Why do Bill O'Reilly have such an obsession with Michelle Obama? ABW (angry black woman). I was flipping the channels the other day and heard Bill O talking about Michelle being angry. Iam thinking to my self, how did he come by that idea. I don't think Michelle has every given Bill an interview so, how did he arrive at this ABW? Is because she's a woman who's educated, successful and opinionated? Is it because she's not a Bitch, Whore are Jump Off? Is it because she didn't buy into that fooliness about no good black men left? Is it because Michelle refuse to be seen as an objects of some hateful white dude desire? Bill, Is it because she refuses to allow you and Fox News to tell her who she is? Is it because Michelle Obama is her own woman and, guess what Bill O'Reilly ain't a darn thing you can do about it.

Oprah's A Free Woman!

For the first time in her career Ms Winfrey has decide to endorsed a candidate. Either, you agree with her choice, it was still her choice to make. Obama has been on The Oprahs show twice and that was before he declared his candidacy. Since the nomination of the governor of Alaska some women groups are insisting that she be given the opportunity to appear on Oprahs show. They feel that this would allow for balanced representation ( In who eyes?) even though Barack has not appeared himself since winning the nomination. The Florida Federation of Republican Women has launched a boycott against Oprah Winfrey’s TV show and magazine because the talk queen has said she will not have Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin on her show until after the election. This is a classic case of bend to our will, or we will break you. Who do these heifers think they are? You want to talk about women making history. why hadn't Oprah had Nancy Pelosi on her show? Pelosi is the hightest - ranking woman on the Hill. She has 5 children as well as Ms. Sarah. When Oparh first endorsed Barack over Hillary, pundits declared that she would hurt her viewership. As long as Oprah was neutral and not taking an active stake in the political world, the white folks were content to embrace her. Some white women think that they can still tell mass'er if we don't perform to please them.
I remember reading an article were Ms Winfrey made a quote " that she's a free woman."

Some one wrote this letter to the editor of a local news paper. What if John McCain were a former president of the Harvard Law Review? What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his graduating class? What if McCain were still married to the first woman he said “I do” to? What if Obama were the candidate who left his first wife after she no longer measured up to his standards?

What if Michelle Obama were a wife who not only became addicted to pain killers, but acquired them illegally through her charitable organization? What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard? What if Obama were a member of the “Keating 5”? What if McCain was a charismatic, eloquent speaker?

If these questions reflected reality, do you really believe the election numbers would be as close as they are?

This is what racism does. It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes positive qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative qualities in another when there is a color difference.

Sexual Abuse In Our Familes.

Check out the new October issue of Essence magazine as Monique herself once again proves that big Girls can also grace magazine covers! In the issue Monique talks about being sexually abused and how she overcame her struggles. Monique also make sure that you know that she's the biggest boss of them all! I commend Monique for coming forth about this horrific event. Not everybody is strong and can discuss issues like this with the world. This is a very highly sensitive subject. Incest is very prevalent in some families. Throughout, generations and unfortunately this is an issue that many families tends to be in denial about. There are so many victims of this kind of abuse. Fortunately, I nor any of my sisters or bothers had to deal with such. But, I do know of several people who has been abused. I hope that sistas will read this and will be encourage to get some healing in their lives and keep watch of their children and others children as well. The signs are there and unfortunately many people do not pay attention. No longer is it the nut on the block or the stranger. Some times it the people we love and trust to protect us. I hope by Monique telling her story others will too.

Fox Is Questioning McCains Lying To The American People.

Even, Fox News is questioning McCain's lies. Tucker Bounds got his butt kick again after Camel Brown did it to him on CNN. He was on, one-on-one, with host Megyn Kelly for what looked like it ought to be a softball. But it seems that McCain’s habit of constantly lying about everything under the sun has gotten so out of control that even Fox News can’t entirely ignore it. Check it out — Kelly gives Bounds the sort of grilling you thought you’d never see on Fox. If Fox can’t ignore the fundamental dishonesty of the McCain campaign anymore then that will become the driving narrative, that McCain will say anything, absolutely anything and sink to any level to win. It’s one thing to have an ex-beauty queen as the governor of a small state, but it’s insanity to put her into the position of leader of the free world.

White Privilege = Sarah Palin.

I found this awesome article and thought maybe some one else might like it as well .Here's the link. After reading the article I found my self asking: Why is it hard to own up too being privilege? If it's alright why be a shame? Why not acknowledge the benefits that one receives without having to work for them? Sarah Palin is a great example of White Privilege.

10 Questions For Sarah Palin!

As a tax paying American, there are some questions I need answers to. You see the pundits are not allowed to question Sarah because they are sexist" but I am not. I saw how they attack Charlie Gibson. The pundits say Charlie was too tough and hard on you PLEASE! So I came up with some question that only you can answer. Now Sarah raise your right hand and promise to tell the "truth." No finger cross behind your back! You no our God don't like lying. All liars will be cast into outer darkness. Now blog family if you have any questions for Ms. Sarah please leave them in the comment sections.
  1. Sarah just suppose your 14-year-old daughter is brutally raped in her bedroom by an intruder. She becomes pregnant and wants an abortion. Would you forced her to have her rapists' babies?
  2.  You say you don't believe global warming is man-made. Could you tell us what scientists you've spoken with or read who have led you to that conclusion? What do you think the 2,500 scientists of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change are getting wrong?
  3. Again why did you try to fire Wasilla librarian? I read that it was over the Harry Potters Books.
  4.  What is the European Union, and how does it function? Please tell!
  5.  Forty-seven million Americans lack health insurance. John Goodman, who has advised McCain on healthcare, has proposed redefining them as covered because, he says, anyone can get care at an ER. Do you agree with him? and be billed for it later.
  6.  What is the function of the Federal Reserve? For get Freddie and Fannie.
  7.  Cindy and John McCain say you have experience in foreign affairs because Alaska is next to Russia. When did you last speak with Prime Minister Putin, and what did you talk about? Please Tell!
  8.  Approximately how old is the earth? Five thousand years? 10,000? 5 billion?
  9.  You are a big fan of President Bush, so why didn't you mention him even once in your convention speech? Give honor were honor is due.
  10.  McCain says cutting earmarks and waste will make up for revenues lost by making the tax cuts permanent. Experts say that won't wash. Balancing the Bush tax cuts plus new ones proposed by McCain would most likely mean cutting Medicare, Medicaid or Social Security. Which would you cut?

High Heels For Babies!

How about novelty shoes for infants? Sexy animal prints with spike heels. Thirty-five bucks a pair. Celebrity-endorsed. Take a glance at the website it reveals a link to an article describing the crib shoes (wait, crib shoes? Why does a bedridden infant need shoes?) as “made from soft, flexible fabrics with a collapsible heel and are not intended for walking. Man, what is wrong with people? Why would you buy High Heels for a baby? Jesus Take The Wheel!

Palin The Con-Artist!

This is my personal take on Charles Gibson of ABC World News interview with Sarah Palin. She is a con- artist and a fake. In her first interview without being John McCain shadow, she's not ready. As I watched this interview, I came to the definite conclusion that this con-artist was coached on how to answer certain questions. The one thing that is very clear is that she cannot answer questions simply with a yes or no ( She got to beat around the bush). She is extremely inexperienced for the Vice-President position. The only experience she has is shooting animals from a low flying plane. If Palin/McCain is elected, we will definitely have another four years of Bush/Cheney. Think about it this way, don't all con-men/con-woman talk a good game? No doubt about it, the girl got game. It's a good thing that the focus has shifted from Obama to these 2 Mavericks. They are being expose for the fakes that they are.

Teaching Creation In Our Schools.

What do you think about having only Creation taught in our schools? What about Evolution? What about both Creation and Evolution together? Confusing? Yeah it is. I don't think either one should be taught and here's my reason, every tax paying citizen don't believe in the same idea. That's the reason religion and politics shouldn't mix. If only the people that supported a certain belief were being tax for that belief that's different. Since every person is being tax the same weather you believe in creation or evolution my solution just don't teach either. Let our churches and homes be the teaching ground for that. Don't get it twisted I believe in Creation and have never entertain that Big Bang Theory. Some things we can avoid getting in a huff about. Faith is believing in The God who can do anything. (Check this out) Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever” (Psalm 104:5). It’s that simple. “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth” (Genesis 1:1). “By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth” (Psalm 33:6). “For he spake, and it was done; he commanded and it stood fast” (Psalm 33:9). If you have ever wondered how this world came into being, the Bible simplifies matters so that everyone can understand. God is the Creator of this universe. It’s that simple. Many people have a difficult time accepting the simple fact of God’s unlimited creative power and would rather accept the ideas of evolutionists. Is this because God’s method sounds too simplistic? Or is it that they mistakenly believe that only modern science can produce the real answer to the existence of the earth? In 2 Peter 3:3-6 the Bible informs us of a time when ideas contrary to that of God as Creator would become commonplace in our society. This text warns us that many will forget that it was God who created this earth and all that is in it, and would scoff at people who believe in God as the Creator. Therefore, we need not be surprised by the growth in evolutionary ideals. The Bible predicted it.
The picture up above is proof of God handy work. NO BIG BANG!!

Elisabeth Hasselbeck Is A ............

Elisabeth Hasselbeck of ABC's The View flew to Minneapolis to emcee a luncheon in a tribute to Cindy McCain. She previously had hosted both Michelle Obama, the wife of Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama and Cindy McCain wife of Republican Presidential Candidate John McCain. I was not shocked at what that little twit said at the podium because she has always came off as a little snotty witch: Clip!

“Unlike the wife of another political candidate( i.e. Michelle Obama) who shall remain nameless, Cindy McCain didn’t come [to cohost The View] with a list of topics we weren’t allowed to touch.”I was outraged when I saw the video. Ms. Hasselback's tone was arrogant, self-righteous and condescending. Utlimately she not only made herself look bad but also the honoree. Cindy McCain must have been very embarrassed by that type unprofessional behavior, the catty comments as well as the deliberate dig at Michelle Obama.

Why didn't Hasselbeck use Cindy McCain's View stint to grill her on the Keating Five scandal, Cindy's history of drug addiction and the illegally written prescriptions( a felony) she used to obtain those drugs. Hasselbeck never asked about any of those things, and I am positive that Cindy never expected her to. I feel like the little twit should be fired. I see why Rosie want to put a foot to her. Ms. Hasselbeck violated not only Michelle Obama's privacy, but also the privacy of every future guest on The View. ABC and Barbara Walters should fire that little twit as soon as possible. You don't invite folks to your house and then talk about them behind their back.

Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae Miss Sarah Says"You Are Two Big".

I've seen some suggestion that Miss Sarah first gaffe as a candidate for national office came in her first public appearance, when she claimed to have opposed the infamous Bridge to Nowhere. But that's not really a gaffe, so much as it's a big lie. Speaking before voters in Colorado Springs, Miss Sarah claimed that lending giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac had "gotten too big and too expensive to the taxpayers. Hey! Sarah they aren't taxpayer funded but operates as private companies. Miss Sarah after the takeover it may result in a taxpayer bailout during reorganization. Miss Sarah you know who every gets in office next most likely this will be one of the key economic issues they are likely to face. Miss Sarah you don't know who Freddie and Fannie is? These are huge institutions and they are central to our country's mortgage, and Miss Sarah did't have a clue. Miss. Sarah how could it be "too expensive to tax payers" when it was privately own before the take over? Miss Sarah you have not been briefed enough. I am a voter who's questioning your readiness for national office, screwing up on housing policy in the midst of a foreclosure crisis is scary.

The Imitation Of Life The Movie.

The movie Imitation of Life, the one starting Lana Turner is playing in my area today . I prefer this version rather than the early one. To me the movie was more about Lana Turner’s live-in black maid, Annie Johnson (Juanita Moore) and her light-skinned daughter, Sarah Jane (Susan Kohner).

Throughout the picture, Sarah Jane breaks her mother’s heart again and again by “passing for white” and denying her relationship to her mother. It’s pretty heartbreaking to watch, although that story keeps getting derailed by the Turner/showbiz narrative. I always felt sorry for Sarah Jane in a way. Especially when the white boy beat her after finding out she was black and not white.

After watching it today I wonder why the director would us race in this story after all it was a 1950s audience. For what reason would he us a woman losing her daughter over skin color and tie it into Sandra Dee’s crush on her mother’s friend. Maybe he was trying to show how shallow white people can be and black folks too. The Technicolor visuals were sharp and clear also. The women s’ fashions in the movie was OK. After watchin it again really the acting is more like soap-opera level, and overly dramatic. But I will give the director credit for grabing every scene for its emotional payoff. But what finally got to me was those darn white horses during the funeral procession. When Mahalia Jackson started singing "Soon will be done with the trouble of this world." Too see Sarah Jane running behind that hearse calling her mother. I had to think about my own mother who's gone on to glory. That made me sad.

Write Your Own Obituary!

How many people write their own obituary? I believe we are writing our own, every day by the life we live. Weather it be good are bad we will be remember for something. Have you ever went to a funeral were the speaker was searching for something good to say about the person? Therefore, the speaker may say something that is not true so, in your heart you are saying that's not the person I knew. You no what? never let someone else write your obituary. And its nothing wrong with writing it daily. Sow words of kindness, invest in the lives of others, learn the language of encouragement, find the good in other people and you will be writing your own obituary. In the Psalm (90:9) the writer said: "Life is lived as a tale that is told, and each transition is like rose petals pressed between pages of memories for retrieving in days ahead." We have a choice write it ourselves or leave it too others. Which one would you rather do? I once heard Rev. Al Sharpton make a statement some years ago that I can't get out of my head: "one of the hardest jobs for a preacher is to preach a funeral of a irreverent negro".

Sara , Jesus Was A Community Organizer!

Hey Sara! What's wrong with being a community organizer? How about this list of organizers:
  1. Jesus -- The 1st and most important!
  2. The Apostles --- Help the community to move forward!
  3. Paul Revere---- was a community organizer.
  4. Martin Luther King --- started one of the greatest move in history!
  5. Sam Houston. ---- community organizer!
  6. Andrew Jackson. ----- community organizer!
  7. Barack Obama ---- helped a lot of people on the South side of Chicago!
  8. Oh! and by the way I think you qualify too. How about PTA. So, what wrong with community organizers?

Bristol Palin and The Double Standard..

Why is Sarah Palin’s 17-year-old daughter “off-limits” and deserves some privacy? May be its that double standard thing. The religious right rather than condemn Bristol for “living in sin instead they commend her for not getting an abortion. On the other hand, let that had been a black unwed teenager from the inner city who's pregnant, these same right winger would denounce it as evidence that our society is crumbling apart. So kinda way they would have blame HIP-HOP. Where is the fire-and-brimstone crowd? The right wing is trying to make Bristol Palin out to be a role model. Really! Now Bristol Palin is the role model for how pregnant teenage girls should react in such circumstances? Please! give me a break with this non-sense. When a teenage welfare mom gets pregnant and opts against an abortion, how many times do we hear this as a “life-affirming” moment? When do we hear members of Congress go so far as to say that these girls are role-models? You don’t. When the subject is a pregnancy to an unwed, minority teenage mother growing up in some urban area, it becomes fodder for lectures from conservatives about bad parenting, the perils of welfare spending and so on. But when the subject is a pregnancy to an unwed, white teenager from some small town in a Republican state, it’s a celebration of the wonders of God's magnificence—and choosing life! My question why the double standard? Why is it OK for the daughter of a right-wing Governor to be pregnant and unmarried but not for a poor black teenager? Sounds to me like double standard.
