God Star - vs - Rock Star.

This is one of the biggest pastors in Cleveland Ohio daughter. Pastor R.A.Vernon of The Word Church. People check out the type of party this young lady want to have at the expense of the church. She says that Jesus wants her to have this. I can understand why these pastors need to be investigated, come on taking the people hard earn money for crazy mess like this is just not acceptable. That is what's wrong with this get rich gospel. I just don't get how these so call men of God is allowing this to go on. Somebody please help me to understand. What do you think, should this be happen within our community/churches? when you click on the play clip it will take you to mtv site were the clips are at. You have to watch them there.

  3. Ann, that has got to be the most outrageous video I have seen in a long time...it brings tears to my eyes to think that we have a shephard who uses God's blessings for things like this..from the looks of it this child needs a bicycle instead.

  4. Thank you Loveable for your comment. She do need a bike for reason we can see.

  5. after loveable's response....I'm scared to view the video. this is a mess! where are we going wrong??????

  6. Bria thanks for your comment. It is the materialism in our churches. We are raising our children with the same ways of thinking.

  7. Ann, not sure if u checked the post i've done after watching just the FIRST pt of this episode. I'm beside myself...and one thing I know about this show-they've used manipulation...told the kids to be to their friends, act snobby and threatened to cancel the taping if they disagreed. MTV has paid for-or rented some of the extravagant gifts seen on the show. Former guests have said it wasn't real..
and U CONTACT MTV...they don't contact u to get on the show. So i'm just curious as to how this Pastor's family bcame invlvd w/this show???

  8. Bria thanks for your comment. Yes I like the spin you put on it. Why would a man of God want his child shown in that kinda light is beyond me.

  9. "A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent" Proverbs 28:20
Satan knows what you want too, and he dangles sin in front of you. If you are ignorant of who God REALLY IS, and HIS nature, then you will be fooled. I am not suprised when people who are OBVIOUSLY living in the flesh act as stupidly as this pastor: mocking God, His work, and desacrating His word. It is for the latter blasphemy that they will suffer. People really need to get back into the healthy fear (respect)of God, they are on thin ice.

  10. We must continue to spread the true Word and pray for those that are drawn toward such a strange gospel. A gospel that is not of the Lord but of satan. We must also pray for the souls of these that call themselves ministers that they will be transformed by the true word of God also. They will have to answer for their own sins and for each soul that they have lead into this life of sin.

  11. Anonymous thanks for your comment. Yes Satan knows what we want because he watches us. He knows that we have love for the world.

  12. nonamerican thanks for your comment. I throught we were doing a good job spreading the gospel it's that the gospel is not being received.
Because it don't sell as well as the prosperity/get rich gospel.

  13. Well I live in Cleveland and I have been to that church numerous times. Pastor RA Vernon is a very successful business man besides being a pastor. He owns hair salons, daycares, roller rinks etc, and that is where he claims the money for the party came from. He has been getting a lot of back lash for the party and I do understand why but if you lived in Cleveland you could see why this man was able to do this.

  14. Pastor Vernon is a fraud! It's the prosperity "word faith" doctrine. The members of his church seem to be brainwashed in a cult-like fashion. Check out his websites - it's all about "Pastor Vernon, Pastor Vernon, Pastor Vernon". Pictures of himself everywhere, billboards with his picture all over the City of Cleveland. Where is Jesus or the Word of God anywhere in this? And on his website, it's all about how he is a "humble man of God". Why should he have to brag about that? God is shown in the way one lives - and all I see from this "pastor" is bragging and boasting!

His congregation is mostly made up of the most disadvantaged citizens of Cleveland. And it is that flock that he is fleecing - to give his daughter expensive purses and birthday parties, to drive around in the lap of luxury - while his parishioners catch the bus to church... to wear rolexes and fly around in his own "plane". So his wife can go off shopping while he is out "preaching".

Shame on you, Pastor Vernon! May this be your wake up call!!

  15. Thanks to both of you anonymous for your comment. I think that this is a bad stewardship of God's money. He allows us to get riches but He also wants us to manged it properly.

  16. you are mad because this man has things? he has not taken anything from anybody, what he has God has used the congragation to GIVE to him and God has blessed him, its not all about him, its all about JESUS and thats exacly what he teaches us, but pray for us that we get better, and have a blessed day.
    Christopher.

  17. Christopher thanks for your comment. I never posted anything negative about your pastor.

The item in question is the party not what he does at the church are what his congregation does.

As a leader of God's people he should have showed better judgment in mattes such as this. He should teach his daughter, that we are not like the world.

She being a child of the most High don't celebrate like that. I am not mad about things because, they will burn up one day.

  18. Pastor Vernon has been catching much flack from, what I truly can say, was a bad decision. I can see the innocence in giving his daughter a party, but to allow the carnal to come in a fellowship with the spirit, was a bad judgement call. Pastor Vernon worked hard for what he has. We as people want the finest things in life and it is funny how just because you become a pastor, the world thinks that you must be low-living. It's like we forget that pastors are simply human beings. The same God that speaks to him, speaks to us all. One God! The One TRUE GOD!! The milk is has been spilled. When does the forgiveness come to play?

  19. Anonymous thanks for your comment. I do not in any way think that pastors are low down. I believe that they are held to higher standard that a lay person because they are in a leader ship role.

  20. Why is everyone stating that Pastor
Vernon own businesses, etc. and he can afford to give such a party. These businesses are part of the church and were set up with money taken in through tithes and offering. Why did he set himself up as CEO of the businesses in order to receive a portion of the proceeds. It was set up with church money and the church should receive all of the proceeds.
This is tantamount to a teacher being paid a salary through the school board while using the monies collected through school lunches, field trips, etc. to set up a business and collect a portion of the proceeds because he or she has made themselves CEO. What a farce? These businesses were not started with his money.

  21. Anonymous thanks for your comment. I agree 100% with your comment. If he used church monies to start up his business then the business belong to the church. In any case to give his daughter a party with the church money was wrong.

  22. There is no way this blatant display of pride and materialism, not to mention just plain foolishness, can be justified. I don't care whose money it is or where the money came from. Why would a man of God want his name associated with this type of trash? At the very least, there is a serious lack of discernment and common sense in play. These parents are not doing their child a favor by indulging her like this.

  23. Anonymous thanks for your comment. Have you notice by the comments that some people have no problem with this kinda mess.

  24. Someone typed that he has hair salons, restaurants, etc. Where? Last I checked those were CLOSED because the lack of business. C'mon people, when churches as a business and a separate S Corporation called Word of Action, in which he owns and is the CEO, receives rental income from the church to use the facility, he's fleecing the church. 2008 will be the year churches across america will be exposed.

  25. Anonymous thanks for your comment. I hope 2008 is the year the covers comes off and expose all the corruption that is going on in the Body of Christ.

  26. I am sorry, but I do not agree with a lot of you comments. First of all I believe that any pastor has the most important job there is recruiting souls for God. Second you cannot run a church and help the community with no money. If a pastor is is doing the will of God his is supposed to be blessed. It's people like you who called themselves christian that seem to be brain washed to the fact that christian are suppose to be poor and struggled all their lives. Satan is out to destroy anything that has to do with the church and I think Pastor Vernon is doing the will of God and is being blessed for his work. The bble tell you to give a tenth of your income, I can't help it if you all attend small churches that have no money of members and have to have barbecues of sell bake good to keep the church going. In mmy opinion if your church is still in the same position it was ten years ago, what is wrong with the head of the church, because what is at the head falls to the body. Pastor Vernon is blessed and his church is blessed. Then you all talk about people making sacrifices, Abraham make sacrifices to God all the time and God even asked him to sacrifices his son to test his faith and to know that he was first in Abrahams' life. The overall, the devil is mad, because God has blessed Vernon, and all of you are letting the devil work through you, and that is a shame. No where is God word does it say that we that serve the God that owns everything should struggle all our lives. You reap what you sow, evidently you all don't sow in money, ministry, worship or pray, to reap the right benefits. I think a lot of you need to check the spirits that you carry around and inside with you.

  27. People are human (even Pastors) and they make mistakes. And, I would bet my ministry that Pastor Vernon and his wife would agree that they made a huge mistake in having their daughter's birthday illuminated and highlighted on MTV. I really doubt if the funds came from his church, but from his personal funds... I just really think he made a huge mistake and I feel for him because all people need is a little reason/excuse to doubt God; to stop coming to church; to stay out in the world and to doubt God's messengers. I would ask all of you to check yourselves to see if you haven't "ever" made a huge mistake in your life and then judge this family.
